http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-877-_-Product Don't be thrown off by the "card is gaming trash" comments, whoever buys a card like this for gaming is too stupid to breathe without someone else to help and provide instruction. Less power, less heat, lower cost.

none of those cards are even remotely useful for gaming. even the GT240 cant go much beyond valve games and the sims.

CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is part of the HDMI spec and allows HDMI devices to control each other. For instance, a user can operate multiple devices with one remote control.
For some reason, although ATI and nVidia support HDMI, they have yet to support this feature when most HDMI capable devices ( such as a stereo ) do. For us HTPC users, this would be a great feature to have. |

This is correct.. However, I left out a bit of info. CEC uses one of the pins on the HDMI cable and is supported through hardware, not just software. The additional hardware cost could be why they have avoided it.. This is strictly speculation on my part.
Having said that, I have a G210 in my HTPC and love it... Cheap, fanless, low form-factor and now on board HDMI audio make these cards very attractive. Plays everything I throw at it minus games. Tester |

Everything minus games, so like, uhhh, not games, and uhh, movies, and not games? Google earth will run on a integrated Intel, as will your desktop. These cards are meant only for HTPC, or flash based games.
Less than $40 today will buy you a cooler, lower power 5450. So your point is moot.

I read your earlier comments and was under that impression that my own comments mirror yours. I also could never understand why anyone would purchase one of these cards for gaming, even at a budget.
As I said prior, its a great HTPC card and nothing else. @ $23.99 after rebate, this is an excellent HTPC card if, let me say it again, you are not intereted in games. Unless it is something very modern (such as those Atom systems) integrated will have a hard time with bluray, 1080, and high res backdrops. |

Just because it has no hardware acceleration for bluray, doesnt mean it cant pass it through when the CPU is done with it.
