ATI Radeon HD 4890
It's time for xfire since Metro 2033 won't run completely smooth maxed out (seems poorly optimized, nice graphics though). So, I need a 4890
Almost any good brand will do (so no xfx ). Thanks! EDIT: Mmmm, I guess I forgot to put a detail in here. I want used cards only. I'm not looking to stick a new card in my aging system even if it's only a little more in cost. It's just past the limit and what it's worth to me.

Plus, they made that non reference, ultra cheap components, POS 4890. It couldn't overclock at all and would likely fail really fast. They deserve nothing. I think that's the PCB rev with the bad batch. Probably why he has tons of them. Saw lots of threads and people showing really low benchmarks. The cards didn't even perform correctly.

The cards on the Hardforum FS thread are reference cards I believe. Part # on them:HD-489X-ZSFR
If you look on the XFX site they are reference cards http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/produc...ries/4890.aspx

Hey, you can buy a brand new XFX with double lifetime warranty for $209 which is probably the smartest thing to do since I just bought the Sapphire from overclocking101.

hehe...now I'm kind of looking for another one too, although I won't be able to afford it for a few weeks. I don't really need 2 for socket 939, but I can always use them in another system later.

Have you see the metro 2033 CPU reviews? It only uses 2 cores and it doesn't matter if they're 2.0 or 3.6. The FPS is identical. That's crazy. Bad Company 2 is a joke. Typical EA crap. It needs quad core, that's absurd. It doesn't even look good.

Another thought, why not sell ur 4890 and get a 5850 (or even 2 x 5770?) or something like that? Will it still be a weak one for the game you are trying to play? just my 2 cents.

man, I just got so lucky and found another cheap 4890 1GB, xfx this time, on ebay for $160 shipped(almost as cheap as the other one) and I bought it too, sorry.
![]() You'll find one soon. I'll keep my eyes open for you since I have been having good luck with that and I don't need any more. ![]() EDIT: look here is not too bad of a deal. http://cgi.ebay.com/XFX-ATI-Radeon-H...item3efe769422 Last edited by ny_driver; Apr 2, 2010 at 08:08 PM. |

You could probably get that xfx for $150. I just paid $145(sapphire) and $155(xfx) for the two I bought. You might get lucky and find one cheaper I suppose. Good luck, I'll keep looking for you.
