Purchasing new Graphics Card - Ok so what do you advise ?

Some of you may know i oblivorated my 9800gt , within the next couple of days i should be getting a new card . this is about as far as i can go budget wise at this point of time and i think it should do a good job with my e7500 ?

Any advise ? should i spend $50 more and get the gtx260 896mb
will the 5770 be a big performance increase over my 9800gt

Yes, the 5770 offers better performance than your 9800GT but maybe not quite as good performance as the GTX 260. That being said, the 5770 has more memory, runs cooler and consumes a lot less power than the GTX260.

My advice would be to stick with the 5770 if you're that tight with your budget. You can always get another one later(for Crossfire) when budget permits and blow the GTX out of the water

IMHO, I would go with XFX as they offer the XXX edition and the Black edition AND they have a lifetime warranty (Double lifetime depending on where you live)

Good luck and have fun

Cheers mate , ye i think ill stick with 5770 though with this particular model i dont like the fact it doesnt have a plastic casing =( looks cheap.. Hopefully i can find one like this :

Whats the difference ? just looks better or what

Edit : just realised its the pheonix edition , oh well . Any performance gains ? or just better cooling

you shouldn't spend 50 more only for a 260, but your new card will perform like 35% better than your old 9800GT

Cool gtx260 is out of the question then , mate of mine has a gigabyte 5770 , do brands differ with performance ? cos to be quite honest its paired with an e8500 and to me it isnt that impressive , doesnt even run crysis on enthusiast @1650x with playable framerates :s it stutters alot n shit but that might be a driver issue or a hotfix for crysis im not too sure.

I want the experts advise.

Not really, in a lot of benches the 5770 is on par with the GTX260, and the 5770 consumes much less power than GTX260 and its usually cheaper too.

Edit: If you can find a Vapor-X model for maybe $15 more, you should go for it.

a 5770 costs just the same with GTX 260 in Aus, and I'll sell my 275 for 200 bucks (we can do this on ebay) if you can wait for like another 2 weeks or so

5770 is the better choice no matter how you look at it, since the 260 and 275 cant do DX10.1 or DX11.

275 beats 5770 by over 30% on performance, and IMO 5770 can't really do DX11 for reasonable FPS, I'm not saying this because I wanted to sell my card, it's true.

Im with ya on that one too , only dx11 game i play is alien vs predator and dirt2. I want power i dont really care for little eye candy u cant even notice.

and as i stated before iv used a 5770 on my mates machine with an e8500 and i didnt find it impressive , even tho it played games better than my 9800gt it just wasnt THAT much better.

If i was getting 40fps in crysis warhead with my 9800gt on gamer settings , what would the 275 be capable of ? doube that ?

If I am given the choice of buying GTX275, I will buy 5850. Performs much better.
