Yes it is a preview version of the next driver set
That can be a 10.3 hotfix or 10.4.

So are these actually any good? I am still using Vista in dual boot and have 10.1 on vista and 10.2 on 7...... is it a worthwhile upgrade, I dont tend to update on every release unless I have compatibility issues with new games I am playing.

have you guys updated to the 10.3 or staying with previous 10.3a? do you think it would be a good idea to go from 10.3a to the 10.3 whql?

uhh, there's pretty damn nasty bug on new catalyst v10.3 (does not affect the beta seems only to be at final).

Any other mode of VSYNC on control panel than "Always on" drops absolute full power out take out of the card at instant the screen is still. There seems to absolutely no FPS limiter / lock any were. This sure will kick low end powers down/to power loss.

Easy to test the power, tho, hehe.

Just hit Unigine benchmark up and running and hit ESC (with any other mode at Catalyst control center than 'Always on') and no VSYNC at Unigine. As far I see this also would crash nicely something like Crysis without VSYNC.

Lets correct that my above statement a bit.

Seems I tested faulty the v10.3a v10.3b and v10.3(WHQL). All of these drivers suffers the same error on VSYNC although seems it's only affected by 'Unigine' Benchmark and probably there's bad coding there and not on ATI drivers (not sure on which direction the error is, but the benchmark again works flawless on Catalyst v10.2, heh). The reason why I though this wouldn't affect the v10.3a/b catalyst is because I was updating the system from v10.2 to v10.3 directly and by my mistake I didn't clean the OS, registry and AMD/ATI application data out before I updated and these drivers works with different driver file. (old editions works with 'atikmdag.sys' new editions works with 'atipmdag.sys').

--edit--

Seems, that I was wrong. The VSYNC is correct, but I was using Temporal AA and High Quality AF. Seems that those needs 100% of time VSYNC forced on.

Old issue should of figure this earlier.
