Read the links that I posted. This drive "unofficially" supports TRIM. Remember it is an Intel drive and can be made to act like one, firmware and all.

From what I read, forever. But I'd still rather spend the extra money for the Intel X25-V so I don't have to mess with it

Been using it on my drive for 3 months. Works great. Better than spending $50 extra on the "same" drive.

So will it flash to the X25-V on an Gigabyte mobo? I saw some reports over @ OCN that issues with Gigabyte boards, especially with AMD chipsets, can have issues.

EDIT: So it's now up to $100, would it still be better to get this, and hope for a flash, than to pay the extra $25 for an Intel?

Not sure about the Gigabyte mobo's. Has worked just fine on both my Asus boards. Just wait till it drops down in price again. Not worth it to spend $100 on it. $85 is a good deal and $75 is a great deal.

Also, even if you end up having trouble with TRIM how much are you really going to be writing to the drive. I use mine for OS, key programs and certain games that will fit. I just make a disk image of the drive every month or so (when I install something major or new that I want to keep) and if the disk starts slowing down I can wipe it, restore to factory and copy the image back to the drive. Good as new.

So I ended up going with the Intel X25-V 40GB, my dad said that he wouldn't let his credit card be used for the Kingston, because, and I quote:

Well, at least it's a blazing-fast SSD for a great price, although I would have rather picked up the Kingston and tried to flash it
