lol wtf...

i watched a review video yesterday showing this and i agree with the assessment , 3x2 is just no good. 3x1 or 3x3 or whatever, but a big horizontal bezel in the very vertical center of your screen all the time is too much. obviously for games and the like, but i wouldn't even be able to do regular stuff like that.

i'm happy with new technology, but i would need 2 of these to set it up properly i think

Whatever you do DO NOT BUY ANY XFX VIDEO CARD! Their "engineering" is pitiful and their "product support" even worse. This is my personal and professional opinion gleaned from personal experience with their "support" division and one of their HD4870 1gb monstrosities. Do your research before deciding on one of these newer 5800 series cards. The cards are fantastic, but coming from XFX they're liable to be faulty and their "support" department will go out of their way to make you, the consumer, to be unaware and less than credible. Their "support" department's veracity is also open to argument.

There are "horror stories" about all brands.

exactly. i'll take the double lifetime warranty and my own research over a single warning. from what i've read XFX has some of the best support. hopefully i'll never have to contact them but regardless I'm not worried.

That may or may not be true. However, my point was to express my own personal experience with that company and attempt to give the readers of this thread my perspective and opinion on a company that leaves a lot to be desired in the realm of customer confidence and satisfaction.

I have had only one instance with XFX support, but I must say...It was as pleasurable experience as I have ever had with an RMA issue. Double Lifetime Warranty...'nuff said. I sold an XFX card and the warranty went with it...you can't argue with that.

@coolbreeze...what was the issue and what exactly did they do so terrible?

Sounds like a troll to me. I hope you didn't just sign up to bash XFX. They have some of the best service and support in the business. HAHA, LMAO!

Now back on topic. I probably won't be getting the Eye6 edition anytime soon, but the 2GB buffer is a nice touch. Waiting for reviews and benches. I don't really use eyefinity right now, but I do game at 2560x1600 so the 2GB would be nice to have. My NEC 3090 would probably love me if I gave a bigger video card to play with.

Finally we get 2 GB 5870s on newegg, and they're all $500? It should be $450, $400 for standard. I think they feel the 6 display thing is worth an additional cost bonus, except it's not. 6 displays is a horrible experience with the positioning of the bezels. 3 displays is the only thing that's worth it because you can have a center display. If I'm going to spend $500 I'd just get a 480 for the speed bonus.

i think the price is good, considering the added memory and the display converters that come with it

you will get about 6 converter

This card is a 100% ATi reference design, so no.

It never came to you that most brands are made on the same factory even custom editions..

A lot of people are thinking about this solely from a gaming perspective. ( which obviously restricts it to what you need. which for the most part is not 6 monitors)

Stop, look at how this could be useful in other situations.

Ever watched the news where they have a image across several monitors in the background?

Now places need less cards and no additional software for that type of set up.
