Razer Carcharias - Don't buy

I have had 2 Razer Carcharias microphones fail on me after about the same amount of time, 2-4 months. The first one I received was actually a review sample from them and the second was just a replacement. This is a very limited sampling, but I would just not advise buying it if you're going to use the mic.

The mic simply died, coxmaster and I were playing MW2 and it just started to slowly fade out and eventually it didn't work.

Audio wise, however, its a very decent headset and is extremely comfortable, even after hours of wearing it.

Which is whyyy you always buy a desktop mic! I've tried many headsets and the mics were a pain in the ass. Spent $20 on a Logitech desktop mic and my voice is so loud & clear I hear myself from my teammate's side.

I got the mic that Ken is talking about. It's a good mouse but I'm just like you jelly.. I got a messy desk.. Hell, I think I put it somewhere and now need to hunt it down!

Me, the desk mouse is good but I'm a quite person.. the background noise will be in everyone's ear more then I am..

Now, that the Razer has died on you? what are you looking into buying?

I don't have a job and have even less money, so I've contacted Razer support. Waiting for a response from them, but I made sure they understood that this is the second one to die.

My brother had a mic like that up in his room, he's gone at the moment, I'll go snoop.

I'm using a karaoke mic at the moment with audio on the Carcharias.

Yeah same here i opted for the ATR20 and it's been great. With a long ass cable too got mine from RS.

It's Cardioid so it's great with TS \Vent and such as most other sounds around are left out.

Not all of it but course, huge brands are always over-priced.

I had a barracuda, broke two of those, the headset itself just snapped. Best buy gave me in store credit, got the carcharias.

I personally hated it instantly as the barracuda sounded so much better. I know like anything it's personal preference, the carcharias just didn't cut it for me.

So I swapped for a logitech g35. I love it, only bad thing is it gets tempermental with the hdmi. But I've managed to snap one of these as well. That's why with keyboards, mice, game pads and headsets I always try to purchase them from best buy. The in store swap warranty has saved me a lot of trouble.

I'll also vouch for that logitech desk mic, worked great whenever I've had need for it, I keep it in the closet for backup.
