Motherboard Drivers?
Hey all. I am a bit a of newb but I upgraded from Vista to 7 64-bit a while ago using the clean install method.
1.Do I need to install the motherboard drivers? 2.If so, I haven't done so yet, where can I get em'. (MoBo is in the specs) |

The only driver I installed after I got 7 is the Realtek HD Audio driver for onboard audio.

I would download motherboard drivers from here:
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...4bit#anchor_os It certainly made a difference with my board and my Q9550

Ok. Thanks. Now what about BIOS? If I need to update I can just update straight to the latest version?

It should be ok, but to be safe I would do bios one at a time from your current one, take it slowly, and all will be fine.
My Q9550 happily sits @ 3.6 all day and night, although on an Asus Striker II motherboard, check my system details

The H50 is absolutely marvellous, I've got mine in the front of my HAF922 behind the drive bays, pulling in cold air from the front. My Q9550 NEVER gets above 35oC on full load

The reason for the error , maybe raid is not enabled in your bios.
This may help you : http://www.motherboardpoint.com/anyo...o-t190038.html Otherwise do a new post in the forum stating the raid problem, as I am in no way a raid expert. TPU has a lot of people running raid. Hope this helps

in your specs it doesnt show raid?? if you use raid d/l that driver but if you dont dont get it its unnecassary, win7 has preinstalled drivers by default so you can get by without installing them as long as you have an internet connection, but if you can help it I would get any and all drivers that fit your setup. if you are unsure ask sometimes installing a driver that is un needed can make things a bit screwy. Also you can go from any bios to any bios if your is the one that came with the board you can flash to the newest no prob, no need to flash ten times to get where you wanna go, in fact its not good for the flashrom to flash it over and over and over. Sure they are made to flash but excessive flashing wont help.

intel.com, gigabyte.com, realtek.com, look at the specs of the board to find all drivers you need.
