AGP Card
Hello TPU.. I am looking for a cheap but good AGP card to slap in an old P4 rig for my little 5 yr old daughter.. Has to be cheap as money is tight, but she keeps wanting to take over daddy's rig when i'm playing something.. I have an old 9700 pro but it has some issues.. Maybe someone here has a cheapy card she can play a few games on? I have a funny feeling i'm going to have to build her something decent in the next few years.. It's so funny to watch her play!

I have an old AGP card (I think it's a 9800). The heat sink is loose, so you would have to re-goop it and tighten it back down.
It worked when I took it out, but I have no way of testing it anymore.

If you take him up on that 9800 I can mail you a 4inch strip of thermal tape/adhesive that will make sure the heatsink stays put, no charge
(That should be enough to cover the die and memory chips, no?)

Funny enough the power supply is a coolermaster real power pro 650.. Had it from an old build and just stuck it in there so it didn't collect too much dust.. I would LOVE to have the x1950 pro as i think it has newer shader model.. How much are you asking?
The young kids are really good at games these days.. I have a friend that has 2 boys playing BF2/heros and they would probably give me a run for my money!! The 9800 i could grab locally for a few bucks(craigslist) but i will keep it in mind... Blew my taxes in my rig and should have went a little lighter and hooked one up for her.. Gonna try to score her a older crt monitor of craigslist for very cheap hopefully.. I have mouse/keyboard/speakers/p4/2gigs ddr400 and a small hard drive.. I can't believe i'm doing this.. She should be playing with baby dolls and now shes going mainstream pc gaming.. I have a big smile though and shes excited about it! |

Hate to dig out this thread but.. This is a long shot in the dark.. Looking for a free/very very cheap pci-e card.. I study craigslist like a junkie and i found a guy locally giving away an e8400,Abit ip35-e,tuniq tower 120 and i am hoping to slap it together for my daughter.. Just missing a video card to play some little games on. I know this is a long shot but i thought i would try here as this community is superb! Still am in shock i found a e8400/board/cooler for free.. what a blessing..
Sincerely, TONY ** Thanks to all the previous offers on the agp side.. Means alot to myself** |

I can get you a low-profile Radeon X300, X800 or X1300 (I can't remember off-hand which it is
). Probably about $10, mostly to cover shipping.

Still looking? Have a XFX 7900 GS that I've literally barely ever used (bad power supply in the box I was going to put it in...decided I'll just rebuild the whole thing) that I was about to put up on here.
