SSD and HDD
since ewiz is havin a 15% off i was juss wondering what you guys think about what i'm planning to do.
i was looking at the f3 1tb's going for almost 65.99 shipped per drive w/ tax added on also looking at 80gb SSD for ~180 shipped from a seller so my question to you guys. should i pick up both or just go with one. i already have wd74gb's in raid 0 but i'm getting rid of them soon. i was also thinking about 2tb hdd's but those are like ~100 shipped for the WDEADS. i haven't looked at hitachi's yet so i don't know about those or even if samsung has 2tb hdd's goin around. any suggestions on how i can increase storage and get a little performance increase could help. i do a lot of encoding and file transfering on a day to day basis. thanks everyone |

just buy the hdd, never buy a cheap ssd because the random writes will be crAP AND EVEN SLOWER THAN THE HDD sorry about the caps i hit caps lock by mistake and didn't feel like writing it again even though i wrought all of this and it took longher than just rewriting what i said previously.Anyways. Just get the hdd or get the hdd and a non-cheap ssd.

I would recommend getting 2x 1Tb WD blacks and RAID 0 them ONLY if you have other drives or means to backup important data to. This will give both a nice amount of storage and a nice performance boost.

or i can just go ewiz hit up my sister for her CC and get those f3's and drool all over it. its hard to find the new TLER enabled WDEARS modeled drives from WD for those 2tb for SSD i really don't have a budget but ~150 to spend so i could easily pick up a 64gb or if i'm really lucky enuff a 128gb from crucial. Raid 0 or you mean Raid 5? i'm still not sure about how Raid 1+0 or however that goes :/ |

Yeah I don't think I'd get a used one since of that wear levelling thing that happens to SSD's. I'd get one with a big warranty. |

F3`s are great. Don`t know about ssd`s but using a fast drive for OS is a good idea.
