Best Free Video Converter?
A buddy of mine has one of the Flip Video camcorders, and wants to convert the file to be able to play through Quicktime, and I have no idea what formats are being used here. From reading a quick review, I think we're trying to go from either H.264 or Advanced Profile MPEG-4 AVI to a quicktime-compatible format. What program is straight up free that would work the best for him?

Handbrake, if it accepts the native file format of the Flip.

Going to have to go with the majority on this one and also recommend Handbrake, been using it for a long time now. It works great, works fast, and the quality is awesome.

To download from this site without looping back to the same page you need to:
Enable your JavaScript, clear your Browser cache, do not block your http_referrer (with ZoneAlarm or similar), do not use a proxy. Queries concerning this issue will not be answered. Here's a download help guide. Blech. Trying to help out a friend with this that isn't computer savvy. I'm not going to direct him to that page so he can figure it out for himself, and I'm sicker than a...idk what but that's probably why I didn't feel like figuring it out.

SUPER works great.
I was finally able to get it to download again. Here's a rapidshare link to it. (Windows version) http://rapidshare.com/files/392192299/SUPERsetup.exe

Having him try Handbrake first since I've actually heard of it (no offense, just would rather have him use a more popular program). I'll give Super a shot if Handbrake doesn't work.
Thanks guys.

Can you guys recommend SUPER and/or Handbrake for encoding/joining avi files recorded by FRAPS?
BTW, MediaCoder is one of the best you can find IMO [but doesn't want to encode my FRAPS vids :'(]
