Out of these two cards...which one would you buy?
Hi Guys,
Two weeks until I order my new system and I'm a little stuck on what brand of graphics card to buy. I was going to go the XFX, until I saw the cheaper 'overclocked' Gigabyte which looks quite nice. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=13811 - Link to the Gigabyte card http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=13056 - Link to the XFX card I've read some reviews and the Gigabyte card seems to do quite well....but I don't know if I really trust the name of Gigabyte when it comes to graphics cards as I can hardly trust their motherboards... ![]() Anywho, does anyone own these cards? If so, any advice would be great! Cheers B82ERZ

yep i would say xfx as well. both from the perspective it has voltage control and has a higher memory OC, that and the giga card is noisy as hell at idle, though load it doesn't get any louder

Not too sure if XFX offers excellent warranty Down Under, but I will still get the XFX version

XFX. Look at the fans on that gigabyte. There are 2 fans on it and the hot air gets blown into the case whereas the XFX should blow it right outside. That alone is what would weigh my decision. XFX has a good warranty too

The XFX ...becuase of warranty and better overclocking potential as it is a reference board

XFX does have the double lifetime warranty in Australia, but the Gig is 3 years and I don't think most enthusiasts would keep a card longer than that anyway. You can control the voltage via the Gigabyte OC utility. "Ultra Durable" isn't a minus either - its one of the things that sold me on my card. The only reason I could see for getting the XFX is if you have a case with poor ventilation.

My apologies. I had no idea there was such a long and detailed thread about the Gigabyte model in these forums spelling out its issues.
