Corsair Launches 1200W, 850W and 750W Professional Series Gold PSUs

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the new Professional Series Gold AX1200, AX850 and AX750 fully-modular power supply units, with 80 PLUS GOLD certification.

The Professional Series Gold range of power supplies have been designed from the ground-up by Corsair’s engineers to be the highest-performing and most technologically-advanced PSUs on the market. Built utilizing server-grade power train architectures designed for mission-critical levels of voltage stability and reliability, Professional Series Gold power supplies deliver previously unheard-of levels of performance.

the corsair HX750/850 are both gold although corsair labels them silver! Both psu`s reach 90% at 50% load so they pass easly http://www.80plus.org/manu/psu/psu_d...x?id=25&type=2 The only difference i see on the newer gold psu`s is that they are fully modular with no hard wired cables!

I think the reason its rated silver is because there were some sample variance that can fall just short of the "gold" standard.
oh and also i think the HX750/850 are made by CWT instead of seasonic. which means they got louder fan noise...

Ultra holds the patent for the 100% modular power supply design, they had products on the market for years that implement that design, like their current series, the Ultra X4.

I hope the AX1200 is a Delta design, they do flawless work. The PWM fan is an interesting addition and should make fan swaps easy. Corsair claims they have the best components available, but they keep implementing YL fans in their designs, there are far better fans outthere. The biggest complains about their PSUs is the fan assembly. YL are not bad fans, there's just a high margin of error in their quality control.

Posts: 318 (0.21/day) Thanks: 80 Thanked 62 Times in 44 Posts System Specs	Ultra holds the patent for the 100% modular power supply design, they had products on the market for years that implement that design, like their current series, the Ultra X4. I hope the AX1200 is a Delta design, they do flawless work. The PWM fan is an interesting addition and should make fan swaps easy. Corsair claims they have the best components available, but they keep implementing YL fans in their designs, there are far better fans outthere. The biggest complains about their PSUs is the fan assembly. YL are not bad fans, there's just a high margin of error in their quality control. __________________ There are more things in heaven and earth then are dreamt of in your philosophy.
