Can you recognize this USB socket?

I've googled, got no results.

It looks like a USB-B but it's much smaller and from the inside it is different.

Also a USB mini-B is like 1mm wider than it

.

If it might help, it's the USB video out of an Olympus E330 DSLR camera.
According to various specs I found online, it should be a USB mini-B (and I bought the mini-B cable from ebay

only to find it much too wide and not high enough to fit)

OK I'm thinking the seller here made some mistake.

I bought this item, it says "USB-A to Mini-B 12-Pin Custom".

The picture of the seller looks exactly like it fits in my camera's socket.

Now the USB I received doesn't look like that at all, but like this:

Is it possible there are 2 types of mini-B

I don't think he even sent you a 12 pin cable. Definitely contact the seller.

My Casio has a very similar looking proprietary plug. I hate that I lost it and now have to constantly remove the SD card to transfer items

I just did.

The mini-B I received has just 5 pins (I think, light's dim here).
Had he shown the 2nd picture I wouldn't have bought it because the shape is very different.
On the other hand, the shape of the first picture (the one shown in the listing) is identical to the female on my camera. Apart from that he says in the listing that it fits the Olympus E330...

USB 1.1 only transfers at about 1.5MBps, I think it will take forever to transfer the photos through that cable.

The user's manual doesn't help much - it describes the socket as a "multi-connector"

Anyway, thanks everyone for the help.
I had thought I had ordered the wrong type of cable that's why I asked for the precise socket name in the OP.

However after contacting the seller he immediately acknowledged that it had shipped a wrong cable by mistake and not the one I ordered. He's going to ship me the correct cable for free tomorrow.

It actually isn't that bad. I use an old USB 1.1 hub on my desk because I can't be hassled with reaching under my desk every time I want to connect my camera, and the cable is so short there isn't any good place to lay the camera when it is connected to the computer anyway(other than the ground, and I'm not doing that). I can dump 200+ pictures off the flash card in 4-5 minutes, not super fast, but not forever either.

i see that it has a compact flash drive. you might be better off getting a CF reader.

haven't found a video cable for it tho, maybe you could buy 2 data cables and figure out what "pins" on the camera plug do what and make your own video cable. i dont know if its component, composite, etc though

Erocker was correct, that end is called a USB6, they also had a usb5, and the video cable is here, along with other accessories.

You got a pretty good price on the cable. They sell for $3.00 to $17.00 USD with shipping. Olympus wants $30 for one...

I had one, well the wife did, but I sold it and she now uses a Rebel and loves it. I still have two Olympus pocket cameras and am pleased with them.
