Getting new Headset; which one?

I'm wanting to get a new headset for an upcoming LAN, but can't decide on which one to get. Basically I just want one that will be comfortable for long periods of time (it's a LAN, what else do you expect lol).

So yeah, suggestions/recommendations anyone? First hand experience with either would be great

ROCCAT Rave link

(I'm not entirely sure if this is where this kind of thing goes, but there isn't a sound/headset forum so I just put it here, mods move if required)

These are really good also if you need a lower price set.

I have the 161's but there out of stock.

Loving my g35, though I did have one snap on me already.

It's an incredible headset, the voice morphing is entertaining for a while. Sounds amazing for what it is.

I would grab a pair, but I don't particularly want to spend so much for a headset when I use speakers 98% of the time, but I do want decent quality. Thanks for the suggestion though but it's just more than I'd like to spend. So can we try to keep suggestions down to <$200AUS please? Cheers.

I would edit the poll, but I don't see the option..? >_>

only supermods/admins can edit polls.

you could do what i do: senn 555's for sound, and i sit a cheap slim headset over the top just for the mic.

Tough for people outside of AUS to search for you then, since we don't know the sites to go to.

Alternatively, one of us could probably buy from here and ship to you.

+1 for G35, first hand experience, I have a set and are very comfortable compared to my AKG K518DJ can's. Sound just as good and go quite loud considering is only running off a inbuilt USB headphone soundcard / amp. Read a comparison with these and 2 other sets here --> http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...2341761,00.asp

Don't like the G35, it feels as if its trying to squeeze my brains out. And the fact that I wear glasses does not help. Sound quality is good though.

I would suggest the Sennheiser PC360. Similar to the PC350 but updated and better.

One key difference between the 350 and 360 that I see already is that the 360 is an open-ear headset. I can't stand those.

The impedance of the PC360 is also only 50ohm vs 150 ohm on the PC350.. so a lower powered sound card or laptop should be able to drive the PC360 a bit easier.

There are more decent brands for gaming headsets out there than just logitech and sennheiser:
See these comparative reviews, for example:

I've got Roccat Kaves and I can tell you that I've never, ever, ever looked back.
They are simply AWESOME!!
Some of the little know brands like Roccat and Prolimatech have industry leading stuff, but it's just that it's relatively unknown.

Undoubtably the Roccat Kaves are a must buy!!

Don't get gaming headsets, they're marketing bullshit. Get a decent pair of cans and some cheap-o mic. They won't look bling bling, but I guarantee you that they'll sound much better.

i use senn HD555's + a $5 PS2 USB headset.

the PS2 headset is a mic and *one* earphone, so its more of a voip headset - but that means less to get in the way sitting on top of the senns, or around my neck.
