Hate the green PCB, but that looks like a monster cooler!

Three slots suck though if you are running SLI. Seems to be a pretty nice cooling solution if you are going to stick to one card

One issue I have with these types of aftermarket coolers is the fact that they exhaust a lot of heat into the case. It would be nice for a cooling solution that allowed the heat to be exhausted out the back of the gpu.
However, if you are looking to get a GTX 470 with a better air cooling solution than what the reference design offers, I would pick this one up ![]() Always liked Arctic Cooling fans for how quiet they are and usually cool well... Edit: Just realized form the reviews that this is not an Arctic Cooling design, but an in-house one. So I wonder what fans they are using??? Last edited by HammerON; Jun 25, 2010 at 11:27 PM. |

It will appeal to some people, but I can't see myself getting a card that takes up 3 slots. On a 470 I don't think it's needed, on a 480 definitely more so.

I kinda like the 470 gtx as a single card solution. I don't hate dual gpu's but they can be a pain sometimes and with good cooling and voltage control the 470 gtx goes crazy.

'No matter under which state, GTX 460 IChill’s core temperature is substantially lower (66ēC instead of 93 in their experiment) than reference card, and that the PCB temperature is 5.4℃ higher which is within acceptable limit.'
Interesting... if the PCB gets 5,4 hotter (because of hot air surrounding it) the mainboard adn processor may rise like 3ēC ??? All this is a little price for the CORE reducing heat by nearly 30ēC! Arctic Cooling what are you waiting for!?

I haven't been able to find this thing on sale anywhere, and that review was from back in May!

Ah, bummer. I guess I'll just have to wait for Arctic to release their Xtreme coolers then.

I know this is cooler then the stock, but where is all the heat going? Up and in the case? At least the stock blows the majority out of the back of the case.
