That supply is dis-continued, I believe ( wonder why ) and I have seen mixed reviews on those High Power PSUs. Don't trust my stuff to mixed reviews.

Just my opinion; but, I vote NO.

High Power Website.
Directron has 'em for $84.99 USD and Ship to Canada, if you must.

Total NO...$150 would buy you a MUCH better PSU from Newegg.

Like this one Corsair 750 Watt

Hope it helps.

nice joke.
I wouldn't even think about paying that much for one of those. If it was a modular seasonic i would but not for something that is as little known as that quality wise.

I will also vote NO. 560? Really. You can wait a few business days and shop with either Tigerdirect.com or Newegg.com. One of two things will happen. A. You will get a PSU with more power, better support, 5 year warranty, by a company you can trust for $150. Or B. You will get a quality 560 Watt PSU with no power usage LED but save $80.

*Please also note that they are lying on that site. While the EZ-extraction thingy is patented, I 90% sure High Power does not hold that patient. And the company that does, so far lets pretty much everyone use it if they want.

Edit: Just cause I see where this is going. My two cents on the future question of what would be a good buy. Here are my two.

A. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817256059

B. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817371031

The OP asked what this is worth, not whether or not he should buy it, or what other PSUs he should buy.

If it can put out its rated power with good voltage regulation, low noise/ripple, and can do so with an acoustic noise signature similar to the Corsair 550VX, and has at least a three-year warranty (all this may be assuming too much, but let's just go with it for now), I'd pay $45 USD, personally. I drive a hard bargain, though.

I wouldn't pay $45 let alone $150.

While that is true. I stand by my previous post. I do not believe it is worth what they ask and I do not trust companies that post semi-misleading information. I do not believe anything from High Power is worth my business.

If the listed PSU's are not to be considered as "suggestions" you can take them as my...source material for why I do not believe it is worth the posted price.

Now that the first "what if" scenario is out of the way, let's consider another one:

If it can not put out its rated power with good voltage regulation, low noise/ripple, and/or is overly loud, or has less than a three-year warranty or the company can't be relied upon to stand by their warranty, I'd pay literally nothing for it. Not even $5 in hopes of reselling it for a profit, because it would be downright immoral to sell a PSU like that. Unfortunately, most no-name PSUs fit this description well.

Moral of the story: you are going to have to test it with a load tester and oscilloscope, or find a person or article where someone else did, and get some more info on the company, product, and warranty to determine what it's worth.

Let's keep in mind you can't go by brand alone. When evaluating the value of a PSU, it must be considered on its own individual merits. I've seen awesome OCZ and terrible OCZ PSUs, for example. Same for Rosewill.

but from what i have seen is when it comes to buying PSUs you CAN go by brand when buying a Seasonic. I haven't seen a bad review of a seasonic. They have the few defective like any other brand would but there quality seems to be A+ in all of them. someone can correct me if i am wrong.

I have never heard of a bad Seasonic-made PSU either, but to assume every Seasonic unit is good without testing each model as carefully as the competition would be a mistake. You just never know when things might change. I can't think of a worse component to choose solely based on brand name than a PSU, considering the potential consequences of buying a bad one.

That said, I do hold Seasonic, among others (PC Power and Cooling, Silverstone, etc.) in high esteem, and keep an extra sharp eye on unknown brands. But brand name should never be considered more important than individual model performance IMO.

Quote from X-Bits labs website article from 2006:ATX Power Supply Units Roundup. Part V (page 16)

"Sirtec, the producer of the High Power series of power supplies, is well known to our readers because its products can be met under the brands of Thermaltake, Chieftec and many others. The HPC-560-A12S differs from the other PSUs in this review with its power consumption indicator called Power Watcher."

Has no worth to me, as I would not want it, but to someone else it might have worth.

while this maybe true there are many people that recommend a PSU based on the brand. Like you said you never know when things could change. They maybe cutting cost and taking out parts of the filtering stage, use lower quality caps, etc because they want more money. a company that rebrands there PSU's could switch there OEM. A good example of a brand that was known to be good but changed would be Antec. Anyone remember there Smart power 2.0?So to sum it up i am agreeing with you and saying you have a good point.

I like to research my PSU's before i buy them because i have had a few bad ones and killed some parts so now i am more careful. If i can't find any good reviews for any reason i look around the forums and customer review to see how many failures/problems people have had with them. It may not be the best way to base your purchase but atleast it will give some idea over a shot in the dark with some unknown power supply or one that you haven't looked into.

I guess to back up Tigr's point about not going by brand alone...my go to for PSU's when I don't know is another website and TPU doesn't do PSU reviews from what I have seen since I been here.

Please also note that just cause the PSU has a brand name doesn't mean they made it, or that you can't get the exact same product from another brand for cheaper. Here is a good article to read through when looking into getting a PSU if you don't mind a little research.

I think we all think alike (a little scary ).

IMO... the PSU is the heart of the system and you want the strongest, most reliable, best support (warranty, tech, etc.), longest life and best features from that heart, no matter the brand.

That is worth a lot to me. Don't want to have to do any organ transplants, unless it is an upgrade; at my convenience.

Yeah like Alphaware is such a popular PSU brand name ! Get your head out of the sand . so they make cases . So what it is a junk PSU I have the right to say that I also IMHO have the right to my opinion . You said you are going to put it in your store so YEAH some one is going to get screwed if they pay YOU 150 buck for that . I hope I never walk into that shop Better yet YOU should HOPE I don't !

" Posts like the one by TIGR make me double-check to make sure there's no " Joke of the day button " . Your post was not only useless but really uncalled for . I did a search for that PSU on newegg and well they do not EVEN carry that " Name Brand " I can not find it at TigerDirect either ! and I tell you this if newegg and TigerDirect don't have it that tells me a whole lot about there product . So before cutting me down for my posts why not start to contribute to the thread and not try to get me all flamed up by insulting me . I stated a fact nothing more . Tell me Just how good is that PSU ? would you pay $150.00 bucks for some thing like that ? Just because it has a Built-in wattage meter ? Hell my APC has one too !
But since NO ONE here is saying they would pay that much for it , I would say that it is NOT AT ALL WORTH IT !
Put a tag on it for $50.00 Bucks I am sure some poor sap will buy it from you .
This thread is a HUGE to me .
