Iiyama Intros LED-Backlit ProLite 21.5-inch Display

Japanese display maker Iiyama released its ProLite E2271HDS-B 21.5-inch monitor. This model has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and uses LED-backlit illumination, which further cuts down its thickness to 18.5 mm at its thinnest point. The panel has a response time of 5 ms, contrast ratio of 1,000:1 with 50,000:1 ACR; and brightness of 250 cd/m². It takes display input from DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. The LED-backlit consumes lesser power than CCFL illumination used in traditional LCD screens, making the ProLite consume 21W for operation. The ProLite E2271HDS-B will cost 22,800¥ (about US $258) in Japan, when it releases to market in July.

That's a bit pricey for a 21" monitor, but less power consumption is a good thing.

its no lower than any LED, my 23.6" uses 33W (as does my housemates asus) on default settings. it seems pricey for what it is.

its 1/3 lower?

Though I agree too pricey for what it is, the only thing that stands out is it's LED backlit

its smaller. ofc it uses less power. i can get mine to about 25W by lowering the brightness as well.

Ive been wanting to move to an LED Monitor, but this is a bit high. LG has some nice ones, and I think I seen a 23" on the egg for less than this....I think I did anyways.
