In 1612, the Dutch opened in New Amsterdam the first brewery in what would be British America.
We owe them big time ... I'm voting with Banjo.

The only wonderful thing about your country are those fumes. Well, that and Wacken next month.

word is the lads got their undies stolen, now a hotel worker is facing jail.

goal line tech is important but FIFA is trying to keep it traditional
human error is part of the game as is human ability

FIFA will be careful to make decisions like this one because it effects many more people then in most any other sports.
if FIFA changes a rule it goes beyond the world cup, it effects national cup, regional cup, etc all the way down to youth leagues.
not everybody will be able or can afford to implement goal line tech so i understand if they over think this move a few times

Argentina has the motivation and confidence that the Netherlands and Spain lack.
Brasil has the experience that the German lack.
Uruguay, Paraguay and Ghana are upset teams that the others need not to underestimate or be toppled

Exactly two rules have been adjusted (on international level) since 1970. One involving red and yellow cards and one where the goalkeeper can't pick up a pass made by foot.
That's two rules in forty years.

Goal line tech is easy, and affordable for every club in their respective highest divisions. One cam, one monitor, and don't forget that the cameras and monitors are already there, the refs just aren't allowed to use them to make a decision.

Of course we have to put our sports stars in lots of colourful (<-- Spelled just for you ) flamboyant jerseys and pads. Bigger, stronger, bulkier, it's the American way, and it's the way we like it. We like throwing things... At other countries and at our Wide Receivers. A man is judged by his arm in this country, it's been proven time and time again with the game baseball that we invented... erm.. slightly based on the game of cricket. Ok, fact of the matter is, we are different and have fun with it. Differences aren't a bad thing, it makes things more interesting. We all deal with it.

I like soccer. I like watching it and I enjoyed playing it when growing up. Yeah, we call it soccer, but it's the same game the rest of the world calls football. It's just a name and has little to no relevance with the actual game. I'm now off to play poker, which strangely has nothing to do with poking anyone and is played with cards.

Oh, like I said earlier, Germany is going to win.

Also, check this out, we have league football/soccer in the States as well.

-I also have just realized that I've become "that American stooge" in a football/soccer thread.

...and please take this post as good spirited, because it is. It's meant to entertain, not offend.
Say Erocker I am the stooge I`m a Canadian .....LOL We have no football team or soccer team for FIFA.

Also I seen that Spain and Argentina play each other in the Quarter`s ,Man like someone said the World Cup sucks so far.
As for Friday the matches look like this.
9:45 am
5vs7
at 2:15 pm
1 vs 3

Meaning who finished 5th plays the 7th place team and so on.at least the schedule i have is like this.

It's three, how to become offside has slightly changed as well. Being "inactive" in the play or some useless differentiation.

http://www.skysports.com/football/wo...237685,00.html

Redknapp spouting some s**t again. After tipping Italy to get to the knockout rounds and England to survive and win against Germany (and even earlier than that - at the start of the tournament - France to top their group), Brazil's defense would "squeeze out" the Dutch. Their defense indeed is better than the Dutch, but it is HOW they defend that would prove their undoing. They were never tested defensively yet (Portugal sat back too during the group stage meeting between the two).

You narrowly missed qualification for this year, hence Honduras played.

Ruud Gullit was right about Robben though in the half-time report. Shame that RVP didn't score.

What a day today! Simply amazing footballing The Dutch played well, kept their cool and had a bit of luck to get by the dejected Brazilian's (i thought they were final's material for sure ) The Uruguay/Ghana game was definately top 3 for action/suspense! If not #1. Simply AWESOME game! I really thought the Ghanaian's deserved the win but look's like the Dutch sent lady luck South America's way after they were done with her

Hopefully tomorrow is as entertaining as today was

Same thing with us against Spain. As if it wasn't enough that the team was out of focus, the coach's decisions only made things worse.

BTW, it is Ghana that is out of the World Cup, not Uruguay.

Eheh, perhaps.

But, in a way, I believe that Ghana should have won, given the way they played. At the end, they did so many innovative ways to score, it's a shame they didn't.
And that last penalty was just a nerve raiser, it totally blew their concentration off.

Also, before I had said that:

Guess, this ends up showing how much I understand about football, anyways, Argentina x Germany will be an obligatory match to watch, no doubt.
