Porn blocker needed!
Ok this will be a laugh for some of you guys, and some of you will think I'm trying to cut down on porn
But this is serious... LOL! A friend of mine asked me to fix up his brother's PC, but upon taking the job on I got told that he has some kind of disability, ADHT/Autism I believe, and the guy is addicted to porn, he loves going on the internet and having a-way with himself! Now I've suggested that it's possible that some software is around to block certain word's coming from the internet, yes as you may of already figured out I need to block anything to do with the word "porn", I'd be very grateful if any of you guy's know of something like this?

Windows 7 (maybe Vista) has parental controls where you can block out the websites.

They've let him do what he want's with his own pc until now, they're sick of paying to have it repaired all the time, which is understandable. In this case it's prevention is better than cure, because the cure isn't really a cure, it's just a temporary fix! prevention is the key.
To those who mentioned "openDNS" would you care to explain at all... or should I google? ![]() EDIT: I Googled it

I remember the public schools used something around here that put the PCs on lock. I can't remember the name, but it probably cost a bundle. If I it pops up, I'll give a name.

The first thing I would do is make sure his user account is set as a standard user, not an administrator. This will prevent a lot of stuff from getting through and infecting the computer.
Next, check the router they are using, a lot of home routers will have a content filtering option that will filter based on keyword. Next, check into OpenDNS as others have suggested.

When thinking about this matter a little more: Nothing can prevent a porn addict from having a-way with himself and j*** off. He propable will get porn DVDs next if the internet is resticted.

blocking . . . porn . . . ?
Does not compute. edit: OK, so is there one issue here or 2. One is the fact that his rig is constantly getting infected. Is another issue the fact that he is going to "pay" pr0n site? |

That's not a reason to help him stop. Like "oh he'll get that heroin anyway so lets just forget about him".
