Corsair Readies Hydro H70 CPU Water Cooler

Corsair is developing a new pre-assembled CPU water cooling kit after facing some market success with the Hydro H50. The new kit, called Hydro H70, features a more optimized coolant flow design, an improved CPU base made of copper, and a denser radiator. It makes use of two 120 mm fans on either sides of the radiator, pushing at 1,600 rpm, and pulling at 2,000 rpm. The design increases the cooler's TDP capacity, closer to elaborate water cooling loops, potentially increasing the processor's overclocking headroom. The Hydro H70 is compatible with all current CPU socket types, including LGA1366, LGA1156, AM3/AM2(+), and LGA775. UK-based online store Scan.co.uk has these up for pre-order at £65.70 (£77.20 incl. VAT). It is indicated that Corsair will officially release these next week.

Different CPU block/pump from the looks of the pic. Guess we will find out what difference it makes next week.

I'd like to see a VGA version of this also. So far the only thing out there is the ALC Omni.

I'm not sure those right angles on the cpu block lines will aid in coolant flow. More than likely it will cause a vortex within and hamper flow.

Thicker rad, extra fan, and way smaller pump profile...The big thing is how much it will cost...

IT's not like the H50 has some icredible pump or anything though...they only sell because they are so cheap, and work basically the same as similarily priced aircoolers, with less noise.

Actually Add In that this thing in push and pull in the right configuration.

Its pretty beast for the price i grant you.

But just everything the cooler is out of the box.

It gets smashed by a couple of heatsinks so

Probably. The V10 never was very good to begin with. You can't really effectively air-cool a TEC to cool a CPU.

Asetek probably makes this also. Obviouly Corsair isn't. But why does the OEM matter?

I don't see why you would have 2 different rpm fans at all.

You (and I) don't need to understand, they wouldn't configure it this way unless it gave better performance so just accept it for what it is.

Never! Question everything. Never assume anything.

Having 2 rpm fans could hurt performance, but if you assume it doesn't, then you'll never know.

The only thing I'm assuming is that Corsair has done extensive testing on various fan configurations and has found what is best for this particular cooler.
