RAZER Revamps The Razer Lachesis: Familar Form, More Function
Razer, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-end precision gaming and lifestyle peripherals, is pleased to announce the much anticipated refresh of the legendary Razer Lachesis. Equipped with a new 5600dpi Razer Precision 3.5G laser sensor and a customizable multi-color LED lighting system, the newly updated Razer Lachesis maintains its original form, comfort and price, while advancing power, performance and precision.
“The all new Razer Lachesis is about giving gamers more personal choice and customizable options,” said Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff, president, Razer USA. “With a multi-color LED for customizable color and a built-in variable dpi, the Razer Lachesis gives gamers everything they need for this three-year fan favorite.” Gamers now have the choice to customize the LED lights on the mouse from a range of 16 million colors. To top it off, the Razer Lachesis allows gamers to customize those colors individually, so each of the illuminated areas can glow a different color. About the Razer Lachesis The new Razer Lachesis is an upgraded replacement for the original ambidextrous mouse and is now equipped with a massive 5600dpi Razer Precision 3.5G laser sensor and nine programmable Hyperesponse buttons. Featuring 1000 Hz Ultrapolling for minimal latency, On-the-Fly Sensitivity adjustment and large, non-slip buttons, the fully loaded Razer Lachesis has all the original features that have been verified and vetted by gamers for years. With several options for complete customization including a full, multi-color LED that allows gamers to choose from 16 million glowing hues, as well as a variable dpi setting that can be adjusted in 125 dpi increments for true precision and control, the updated Razer Lachesis is the ideal option for gamers that value the art of tweaking to their exact specifications. It would be nice if owners of the old version could get an upgrade to this version. I had many issues with the laser and while Razer told me there was no problem, I'm not surprised to see they replaced it.

Maybe I'll grab this if the R.A.T. 7 doesn't work out.

Razer updates his biggest failure? Great.. maybe this one will be functional. At least as office mouse.
Sold my Lachesis after two months, due complete unusability.. ![]() Only one mouse is even more tragic than this.. SteelSeries Xai (thats mouse that can be called "tragicomedical" .. its so bad, that you must laugh not cry). Today Im puzzled what to buy, I tested countless mices and except DeathAdder V1, its from small fail to epic fail. Seems like none is able to create decent working gaming mouse. |

Looks good and I love my Razer Salmosa from WOOT. What they need to do is include the side buttons, I miss that on my OCZ gaming mouse. I like that MadCats RAT 7 that I just saw in Maximum PC. Completely moddable and bad ass for like what 100 bucks. WORTH IT!

Unfortunately, the R.A.T. 7 has the Philips Twin Eye sensor which has known Z-axis issues (pick the mouse up and set it back down and the cursor flies to the bottom right of the screen). I lift up my mouse to reposition quite often, but I still wanted to try out the mouse.

lol, Deathadder is by far the best gaming mouse on a relative budget (I believe that Mamba would be superbly super if it didn't cost a fortune) particularly due to it's wonderful ergonomics. Yes, without a doubt some people won't like the ergonomics but most (and yeah, a whole lot of people) agree with me that Deathadder is indeed, a jolly good mouse.

there is nothing wrong with the steelseries xai a lot of top counter-strike players are using it. the 5% positive acceleration the Avago 9500 laser sensor has is barely noticeable and I think it's much better than the problematic Philips Twin-Eye laser sensor.
steelseries xai dimensions are close to the Wheel Mouse Optical. the shell is thick and has a soft rubber coating on it. it weighs 94g without USB Cable. it has a good center of gravity. the sensor lens is perfectly centered on the bottom of the mouse. the primary microswitches are Omron D2F-J01F, secondary microswitches are TTC. scroll wheel is tactile. sensor has more functionality than other mice using the Avago 9500 laser sensor and is practically driverless with the LCD on the bottom of the mouse.

My Lachesis broke down about 3 weeks after heavy use.
![]() Forget the laser, Razer. I'll be the first in line to buy when you bring back an optical mouse (without the horrible ergonomics of the Lachesis, of course).

My brother loves his Lachesis he has not had any issues with it. He had the razer tarantula but it bricked after a firmware update (collecting dust in one of my closets). I have the DeathAdder and have to spray WD40 on the left click every few months. I thought about buying the Lachesis but the price is high and with one firmware update can be bricked I’ll stick with what I have for now.

I love my Lachesis. 18 months of heavy use without a single issue.
off topic- I may have to dish out for a R.A.T. 9 when it's released. |

Wonder If I could squeeze the (single eye) sensor from creative Fatal1ty mouse to the raven... Guess not. Also the 500 MHz polling rate doesn't cut in for me. On the news... I once grabbed a Lachesis and it felt like... (the yellow guy) or
