Bioshock Infinite Teaser Trailer.

Wow another Bioshock game:

Trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV_TD...layer_embedded

This time it looks like it takes place in the sky. lol awesome.

Quote:
BioShock Infinite is not set under the ocean but in a giant flying metropolis in a steampunk alternate early 20th century. The city, Columbia, was made by the US as a demonstration of the nation's technological know-how and to showcase democracy as it circles the globe. However, as was the case with BioShock's Rapture, the utopian ideals gave way to chaos and madness amongst the populace, a situation complicated by the fact that Columbia is bristling with heavy weaponry.

Commuting between Columbia's sections will have a slim margin of error

Into this mess steps the game's protagonist, Booker DeWitt, a former member of the feared Pinkerton National Detective Agency, which was the nation's largest security company in the late 19th century. According to the preview, he will enter where steampunk robots have replaced horses and people and where crazed citizens foment revolution with strange powers--and lots of guns.

BioShock Infinite will ship in 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Crap, I still need to finish the first two. The trailer was way better than I thought it would be.

Almost done with #2. Saw the vid earlier on my own. Seems way out of place of the original storyline, but I think it would be a welcome change. I just hope it doesn't end up too far-fetched.

This is the kind of thing I expect going from one Bioshock to another, unlike one COD to another.

Well done

I definitely like the new setting a lot more. Though, if the gameplay/genre is still the same I doubt I'll play it

Technically i would believe it is Bioshock 3, but you aren't playing the same guy this time around.(then again, in bioshock 2 you didn't play the same guy), and considering it not called Bioshock ''3'' i doubt it will have any links to the first.

hmmmm, seems like the trailers was made from in-game gameplay not a CGI trailer like WoW trailers for example.

And did I just see DX11 ? The place looks just like the Unigine Benchmark.

Anyway, by the time they release this game we would probably have the GTX 700 series. and the HD 9000 series.

Man, I can't wait to see the next graphics generation which will also probably appear in 2012, Crysis 1 was a huge leap in graphics and that was in 2006.

Thats the first thing I saw a resemblance to was the Unigine DX11 Benchmark. To think I wanted a game like it and Bioshock comes around with almost the exact same look as it. I mean flying rocks, building and cities its just like it but with characters storyline and weapons

I'm not convinced with the flying city idea, i mean the original story in Bioshock 1 and 2 was in Rapture which was at hundreds of feets under water so nobody saw it, but this is in the sky totally exposed.

I would like to see a bioshock in 2030 where you have to explore rapture, and everything goes to hell, plasmids, high tech, etc.

It gives them an excuse to use the beauty of sunlight! Plus I'm sure we will see some references to Bioshocks underwaterness by documents or recordings that will boggle our minds with a perpetual twist of madness and abstruseness that will make the Schrödinger equation seem like elementary mathematics.

Basically I'm looking forward to what they do.

Loved original BioShock, bought BioShock 2 but never played it because of stupid Live Games component. Will buy third almost for sure if it is more like original... at least from the trailer it looks damn interesting, though i hate the lack of surrounding water. Being underwater in a leaking structure was a special experience.

setting

Quote:
The setting for BioShock Infinite may seem even more fantastic and technologically advanced than rapture, but it's set in 1912, years before the events of the first game. In this adventure you play as Booker DeWitt, a disgraced former private detective who's picked up a new case. Your goal is to find a young woman who's gone missing and return her unharmed. The only problem is that she's being kept on the flying city of Columbia.

In 1900, Columbia is unveiled as a symbol of America's success as a nation. It floats around the world as a traveling World's Fair, a marvel of human innovation. But an international incident involves the city and it turns out that the airborne metropolis is also heavily armed. A confrontation occurs, and Columbia disappears into the clouds. DeWitt's lead in the case knows how to find Columbia, and how to find Elizabeth. The problem is that the city's inhabitants aren't that willing to let her, and her very strange abilities, just walk away.

Zenimax (Bethesda's parent company) just aquired Arkane studios (level design for Bioshock 2).
They have deep pockets. This could be fantastic.

Irrational games is making this one? I wonder if Arkane will assist again. This will get interesting.

Yeah, 2 has Securom as well, even on Steam. The DRM employed will be the deciding factor for me, but yes, the game does look good.
