But yes, SLi does scale better than Crossfire, so it is no surprise that the GTX460 in SLi perform extremely well.

It can't be true, HD5870 in CFX should be a good chunk faster than GTX 460 in SLI.

I believe it with DX11 titles and of course Metro 2033 thrown in there which is a heavily Nvidia optimized game. Currently SLi scales much better than CrossFire.

It does go to show the great value of the 460s though. This won't be true for all games, but in some, they win. IMO they are the best price/perf high-end cards on the market today. Too bad you can't SLI more than two.

Now if you did a review with a 5850 CF 1050/1300 against a stock clock 470/480 SLI that would make the 5850 CF also look like a great value based on the performance. The truth is that it's the exception, not the rule.

I'm not talking about just gpu at 810 but included memory and shaders = 810/1000/1620 as the overclock (using stock cooling). Also, I'm talking about stock cards overclocked to that 24/7 not suicide screenshots.

Yeah, I keep on seeing reviews from other sites that keep comparing oc'd 460's to stock clocked ATI cards. And often it's with games like Far Cry 2 as the DX 9 game and Metro 2033 as DX 11.
I now only mainly trust reviews form Techpowerup and Hexus. Both sites are very unbiased and provide a good bench of games, normally. |

I run my 460 at higher than that 24/7. 864/950/1728. Weaker memory, but I'm tellin ya these cards run perfectly at around 850 core.

. I didn't say only the GPU but GPU, memory and shader. We who overclock already know you can OC the GPU at the cost of either memory or shader clock rate. And, know that if we do go for high OC it's usually not a 24/7 affair.

Shader is always twice the core, unless you unlink them. My memory is only 50MHz down from his. And I have been gaming on this since I bought it at those speeds and haven't had a single crash or artifact.

Just saying those are stable 24/7 clocks that are very common to these cards. Not saying that the OP's link was valid by any stretch of the imagination. I would like to see a fully stable OC'ed 460 SLI vs. fully stable OC'ed 5870 CF as well.

If you 2 guys can post some Mafia 2 benchmark results providing your best OC that would be great. Using both physx and without physx. Although I do see some issues with that benchmark program (frame rates decrease from start to finish). I would like to know how well 5850CF does with physx modded driver. Unless someone can suggest another game/benchmark?

Two reasons why it's not true.
A.That GTX 460 is Overclocked alot. B.A stock GTX 460 on SLI would be about equal or less than two 5850s CFX. So the GTX460s might beat the HD5870s. But thats because of reason A. It's an unfair comparison.

IT think it's fair...from a marketing perspective.
"Look! Overclocked GTX460SLI=STOCK HD5870 Crossfire! @ almost half the cost!" The fact that HD5870 isn't overclocked isn't important. The focus of such a review is the GTX460Sli, so new on the market. It's good to see that everyone keeps thier salt handy, but I don't think this is even worth discussion, it's so blatantly obvious what's up here.
