if its got the full cache its not so bad, but a platform change with 4+ cores cant hurt in the mid-term.

just wondering here.. can you name some games that a 3.8ghz dual core can't handle?

I can't think of a single game that a dual core like that couldn't handle, given that it's paired with a good GPU. Games really aren't at the point of needing a 4+ core CPU in order to run smoothly, although it helps in certain ones (GTA IV, BC2, etc.).

Pos I'd give your current setup an 8/10. Smallish screen, amount of memory, and HDD. But, the OC'd i7 adds points and I saw your new case and cable management, it looks really good.

bad company 2 lagged on my 4.2GHz wolfdale in heavy MP matches.
then again, 2x4870's may have helped cause some CPU bottlenecking.

Me too on my secondary rig, but it didn't run it well. It really only does run perfectly smooth on quad cores it seems.

As for you, 8/10

Need a sound card (a must for a high score), more storage, or better gpu for more points. OCing also worth some pointage.

I do have overclocks set, just choose not to waste the space with that info

But just for you my friend my clock's are CPU@3.5Ghz GPU@700/999 hence the 3D Mark Score (from my 8800GT )

For you though I'd vote 9, close to 10 - Nobody get's a 10 from me lol, so that's probably the best you'll hear from me, sure look's one super smooth rig!!

Also upgrading in a few week's to EVGA GTX460 1Gb - and PSU around the same time, on that note I do agree about me needing a sound card, this VIA chip is horrible compared to some other onboards I've had in the past. Rant finished.

Very nice rig. Once you get that second 5870 and maybe an SSD, then i'd say it's pretty much perfect.

Errr I hate rating because I tend to think I rate quite oddly sometimes

But for you I'd say 6.5. Sorry if that seem's off to you.

EDIT: You have no monitor? Also just realised that it look's like you use your rig for a HTPC so depending on your monitor i would possibly give it an extra point

OC that 1055T and get a new GFX card (like GTX 460) and i'll give you a 9.0/10.

Here's a little of what I said in an earlier post

That OC + 460 will get you an 8.5. + sound card = 8.75. That 460 is gonna make it one solid all around rig.
