System Specs

E8400 OC'ing

Hello again,

Some of you are aware that i am interested in OC'ing my '400.
Are there any beginner guides that i should look at? FOR oc'ing that are really good? Worried about kilin teh chip.
Any help you could provide would be awesome, *shakes head at n00bish ways*

at least attempt to research stuff for yourself before asking. - saves having to repeat posts n stuff. however if you run into trouble or theres something you dont understand then by all means ask, but for simple stuff like 'E8400 overclocking' in google could have saved you a lot of time instead of waiting around for someone to answer.

dude ur chip wont die lol if anything ur system will just shut down and u gotta clear ur cmos lol i had my system unstable yesterday at 3.5 all i did was hit the cmod clear and went back to bios and move it back to the last stable OC.. (3.4)

System Specs

Easiest way .....

lower your dram speed in bios and continue bringing fsb up by 5 til you dont post/no longer boot windows. Once that occurs back off by a minimum of 7.

Thats without making any other adjustments. Make sure you disable c1e/eist and setup voltages from auto to a constant value.
