Diablo III
Who else is waiting for this game? It's taking ages. The graphics look very nice, 3D looking and I am glad they are sticking to the style of game play as the 2nd version.
Quote:
http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/index.xml IMO, A successful strategy for DIABLO 3 is if they follow what Valve did with Left 4 Dead 1 & 2. Choices & more choices. From Single campaign to multiple campaign where you can join others online. That’s a recipe for success IMO. Play by yourself or play with others.

My index finger is shuddering, and I have a few mice to go through.
I am looking forward to this game.

the classes they are starting us off with are horrible. Only 1 melee and he is more of a tank probably ... should be interesting with 3 casters and 1 melee. Unless they still need to add one more class.

The first one was decent when it came out, the second one although a much better game I didn't really play a lot and their refusal to increase the gui resolution options was really annoying!
This one I just don't know yet... Going to have to wait for it's release or a demo or something.

lol, WoW was an attempt to be as fun and addicting as Diablo II.
The differences: WoW: Addictive Diablo II: Addictive and fun Wow seemed to have taken a massively great RPG idea like diablo, and morphed it into something that even wowheads hate. If you take 100 people, and ask them if they play WoW on a regular basis: 50/100 say yes If you take those same 50 people, and asked them if they like WoW, only 5 of them say yes. The reasoning behind that is people WANT something like this on a massive scale, they want it so bad, because it is a great idea. The problem is, they keep basing it on the same passive system, and it fails to deliver fun. They need to make it fun. Think of Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time style gameplay, and add MMO. This is what is going to make Diablo III good, hopefully. It is an active RPG, on a massive scale.

I just dont see it being a massive RPG like WoW ... I think it will be the 8 people per game again.

the scale is massive. Your character moves with you, has his own equipment, etc... like wow.
The difference is Diablo II was sectioned in levels, and not massive in scale by useless area, rather the population that you play with.

I'll most likely buy this one on release. I hope the music is good.
*Hmmmm, noticeable lack of electric guitar in the gameplay video on Blizzard's site. Disappointing... Last edited by erocker; Aug 30, 2010 at 12:45 AM. |

Want to say I will buy it but not if he gets his hands on it...
![]() We'll see, I loved D1, didn't really get into D2, was too showy for me, D3 looks to go back to dark roots, but if they skimp on the graphics (I still think D1 a game from 1995 looks damn good) and try and make things for a D3 market place to sell for real money, then I will probably pass it up sadly.

He's the CEO of Activision Blizzard., I wouldn't put anything past him. Like I said about graphics, I know with the Isometric camera that those games were never graphical power houses, but it was an angle that allowed everything to look great and remain that way. So of the videos I have seen so far the characters have horrible textures, very low res, blurry, and not detailed. Plus, just like COD, lots of people play it online, but it has no sub fee, and there has been many talks of some way to rake in cash, since there is cash to be had, D2 still has a lot that play, and if D3 is really that good, who says there won't be an attempt to bank on it, so what if it means loosing people, turn on a sub fee after the games out, that way you rake in al lthe cash from opening sales, then if people leave, who cares, the ones that stay pay in cash.

well making an online game eternally free is an expensive thought. After how many hours does Blizzard start to lose money on a copy, I wonder? surely there will be loads of people who play past that time. Maybe buying D3 will come with, say, 2000 hours of online play time and past that you have to re-buy in for $20 or something. It's going to have a huge production cost ($100mil easy I bet) and thats not always easy to make back. Unless of course you are Blizzard. See: starcraft 2.

they have ways to make money. I always thought they were behind some of the huge item shops online that sold all the good shit. I mean really. how do those shops get so much good gear? There would have to be 50-100 people playing all the time to keep the items stocked.
Unless they got help from bliz who took a cut.
