Today, Logitech introduced the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 - the company's first light-powered keyboard. The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard powers itself whenever there's light, even indoors, making battery hassles a thing of the past.

Accumulated over the course of 3 years? 3 months is the max amount of juice it can hold in its battery.

Solar keyboard is a very good idea.
One idea came in my mind for Logitech guys, why not bundle this keyboard with a self powered mouse, which can collect power by the mouse movement. Same as many watches get power from wrist movement.

Just shake the mouse few times while pc boots up and you are ready to go...

Hope this idea can help save energy.

my dinovo has the same battery life, according to logitech.

its more like 3 weeks when used 8 hours a day

Doesn't matter how long it's going to run on battery. Whenever there's light, it charges back up. It shouldn't matter unless your office is inside a cave.

What if your office is like a cave but your monitor is really bright? i wonder what level of light is needed for it to charge, would be awesome if it could run off the light from a monitor.

Although yes it does not really matter, as long as it runs for a few hours in the dark (gaming in the dark?) that's all that really matters.

Hmm I like it. What's the state of wireless keyboards and gaming? I know I had logitechs "best" wireless mouse 8 years ago, and for gaming it was horrible. It would enter sleep if not moved and took half a second to start going again.

I don't remember the exact model number. Just that it was the MX510 but wireless with charger stand.
EDIT: Found it. It was the MX700. Maybe wasn't top tier. At the time I bought it I thought it was expensive though.

But this keyboard looks pretty neat anywho. Might pick it up.

+1 for the review. Very sexy and if I was looking for a wireless keyboard, this would be it. Although my cave is pretty dark and even monitor light won't help as keyboard goes under the desk

But I guess it would be 4months use with the very low ambient light, or based on Mussels' post 4 weeks until it runs out of juice

Love the idea, reminds me of primary school and little solar powered calculators, and it's just plain a good idea to never have to charge it.

I'f the battery can hold out in the dark as long as my dinovo mini, I'll be thororly impressed.

You forget that the battery in that keyboard will eventually die. No matter how many charges it can take, it will happen. Hopefully later rather than sooner.

Really it is an A+ idea. But how well its been implemented has me curious. Solar tech even on huge panels can be easily affected by just covering a single cell. Sometimes they just switch themselves completely off. Its not what you think. Covering part usually doesn't mean the rest will keep functioning. Depending on where the cell strip is, might be having to angle lights or positions to keep it charging.

Then of course theres the users like me who don't run with lights on to save power. I'd have this thing drained. Even if I wasn't saving power, I'm kinda used to lower lighting. No way I'd have lights on to charge it. Was irritated when my sister came to visit a couple years ago cause she couldn't stand the low lighting and I had to have every light on in the place. Crazy Minnesotans

Very sexy and if I was looking for a wireless keyboard, this would be it. Although my cave is pretty dark and even monitor light won't help as keyboard goes under the desk But I guess it would be 4months use with the very low ambient light, or based on Mussels' post 4 weeks until it runs out of juice __________________ CPU-Z validation sig pics temporarily blocked

No matter how many charges it can take, it will happen. Hopefully later rather than sooner. Really it is an A+ idea. But how well its been implemented has me curious. Solar tech even on huge panels can be easily affected by just covering a single cell. Sometimes they just switch themselves completely off. Its not what you think. Covering part usually doesn't mean the rest will keep functioning. Depending on where the cell strip is, might be having to angle lights or positions to keep it charging. Then of course theres the users like me who don't run with lights on to save power. I'd have this thing drained. Even if I wasn't saving power, I'm kinda used to lower lighting. No way I'd have lights on to charge it. Was irritated when my sister came to visit a couple years ago cause she couldn't stand the low lighting and I had to have every light on in the place. Crazy Minnesotans .
