the difference being , as others have noted - what the "general acceptance" level is.
pretty much no matter where you are, the "general acceptance" of a bloody mangled body is going to be pretty low. most people, anywhere, do not want to see that - and would go out of their way to not see it.

a woman in a bikini on the other hand, has a much higher level of general acceptance. you don't gasp and turn away, or shield your children's eyes at said beach do you? as you would with the body on the street? again, it's where you draw the line, and who get's to draw it? as w1z said, (paraphrasing) it's too hard to generalize, case by case is the way.

actually i'm quite surprised that you and others considered that an accurate analogy. I can understand your argument, but that is just soo obviously above and beyond.

well like easyrhino said in a earlier post he has disabled his avatars and signatures so if your offended disable it so you cant see them...easy fix. and if you feel as thought its not right that you have to make this acception what right is it to judge others for having them.

As I posted earlier the rules state there will be no sexually orientated content posted. Moderators have the right to judge and remove the content in question if necessary.

I refuse to do that. It is in the rules that offensive images avatars language or material is inappropriate and not allowed. Posting a picture of a female or a male with almost nothing on is rediculous to do on a forum of all ages anyway. Not to mention some of the members have no idea were the line is. I have seen numerous moderator interventions in FS threads and the FAH/WCG forums about people bumping with pictures that left little to the imagination. Perhaps the better question is why dont you take your crap to GN were it belongs?

that isnt the issue. while I dont think it has been stated outright the current trend I see is people having womens ass's as avatars with thongs on with their vagina hanging out. ACCEPTABLE? NO.

of course. Some people dont celibrate xmas or w/e it is you may find offensive about it and that is fine. but the issue at hand is nudity. I like a female body just as much as the next guy. but their is a time and a place. A forum that allows any age to join is NOT the place to parade around your various sexual fantasies in picture form. save that for a dark room in your moms attic.

well i agree with the principle - i'm not the type to purposefully do anything offensive, unless it truly reflects my core beliefs and the offense is ,imo, unwarranted.

but at the same time i think it is deeply saddening that we compare a naked body to a dead mutilated one in terms of shock value. (edit:i think it's more religion than location) as well sexuality is looked down upon worse than violence, and that is insane.
