Help me choose motherboard for core i5
Help me choose good motherboard for Intel Core i5-760 - LGA1156. Asus or Gigabyte, price up to 150$. There is so many of them and i dont see diference betwen them, only in price.
I was asking in store and computer specialist (not the seller) that better is to take gigabyte motherboard, because asus is less stable and they break more often. But asus has many cool features added to motherboards and they are cheaper so i dont know anymore. This is not which is better, one or other, this is help me choose from both. P.S. Sorry for my english.

Get a P55 they overclock better than the H55, also what features are you looking for? SLI/Crossfire? crazy overclocking? USB/SATA3 etc.
To be honest if your not too fussed about the above most P55 boards will suit you and most half decent ones will net you a healthy 4ghz OC with ease (see my specs, i5 760 just changed bclk to 200 and vcore is set at 1.25v )

Very nice board. I also suggest you might want to look into Asrock's p55 lineup.

Do you need to buy any other computer components for your board or is the mobo the last component you plan to buy? If the former, I'd get a cheaper board, no need to get a $200 mobo especially if you still need other stuff. Also, everyone is saying i5/i7 is approaching EOL with Sandy Bridge coming up so all the better to put your money into something that is more transferable like RAM (DDR3 is still the main one, right? no DDR4 coming anytime soon? :-) ). Although, you say, you will keep it for a long while, you never know when you might want to move to a new architecture or upgrade anything you still have. Just my two cents. Other opinions may vary. ![]() Gigabyte Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3 - $100 - (or get full size mobo version ) Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 - under $200 - has USB 3.0 Asus: Asus P7P55D PRO (under $150 - I think) ASUS P7P55D-E - same |

I assume you'll only want a single 16x PCIE slot so start looking at mATX boards. Gigabyte, Asus, Evga, and Zotac are great manufactures to check out. Look for 3+ years warranty and tons of connectivity available either with the i/o or add on(pins on the board). Any other thoughts, just ask.

they are becoming harder to get though tbh, I would get them now or asap. it looks like board makers will stop making them, just try and find a m3E or ud6/7/9 1156 board.

EVGA P55. The LE is a great value and still a really good clocker and very stable.
