Hmm well after reviewing what everyone has said, that only applys for windows xp. So if you have a laptop thats a HP, and it has windows xp home edition pre installed, you will need to get a OEM windows xp home edition disk, install it and then use your COA on the bottom.
Where as with vista and 7 there is no OEM disk, and all you need is any old vista x32 or x64 disk, choose the install that is the same as your coa on the bottom. Install then type in your code. |

Very very useful info in here
![]() Got it ![]() Okay quick update, so both of my windows 7 discs give me this upon installation ![]() ![]() Just tried installing with my windows vista 32-bit disc, first thing that comes up is your product key so i can't tell which versions it supports, but as from what i've read where you type in your product key from here it will then install whatever version of vista your key is? Is that correct? Im still working on getting a 64-bit iso for vista. Does anyone have any old coa's or vista keys that they have when they upgraded to 7 or anything i can just type in to figure out if these discs install right? I won't run the OS im just making sure they work PM me please with that. Here's my current list of windows discs for reinstalls on systems. -Windows xp Home edition OEM 32-bit(for laptops and desktops that come with COA's) -Windows xp Home edition retail 32-bit -Windows xp Professional OEM 32-bit (for laptops and desktops that come with COA's) -Windows Vista 32-bit (should work for anything correct?) -Windows Vista 64-bit (still working on getting .iso but should work on anything correct?) -Windows 7 32-bit retail (works for every version) -Windows 7 64-bit retail (works for every version) Does anyone know any other discs that would come in handy for repairing computers? Is XP media center one i should get along with xp 64-bit? And what versions does 64-bit xp come on? |

XP64 only comes in one version: XP64 Professional. Do realize that XP64 is not related to XP 32 bit in any way. It is based on Server 2003 64 bit SP1. So there is no Home ect versions of it. It should not have been named XP, too confusing.

If you're talking about xp64, then yes. It does come in vl flavour as well. I recommend that one.
You may need to edit your aio, there is home, pro and ultimate of vista and win7 as well.

I used the ei.cfg tool to get it so my windows 7 discs give me every windows version for install. You just need 32 and 64 bit discs for both. Xp on the other hand is more picky. |
