Now issues with gtx 560

Now issues with gtx 560
I need some help here now this board is having trouble with a MSI GTX 560 Twin FrozrII . I have swept the drive with driver sweeper but like this 470 listed in my old thread as soon as I touch the control panel or start a game I get a black screen and a driver error message. I don't want to do a complete reinstall anyone have an idea. The strange thing is the MSI Twin Frozr II gtx 460 version works fine and so has a 480, 570 and 580. The only difference in issue here is there isn't any sound conflict. Also I swept both for ATI and Nvidia drivers before reinstalling.

here is my old issue thread for reference anyone ever hear of trouble with GIGA SOC not ins...

I have reached my F factor her maybe time for a 6950 and be done with it. I know it will work.

Did you ever tried to update the mobo Bios?

I would have tried a format & reinstall of windows with up to date drivers before returning the card but that just me...

My Windows install is very extensive and I did not have time for a complete reinstall of Windows and then a major reinstall of about 50+ programs, plus resetting up my network etc.. Also who's to say it is not a simple driver problem and not a driver conflict or a hardware conflict. What if I did all that work for nothing, and it is a lot of work. Also my printer is networked through this computer and with 4 kids who need the printer, plus law school, I really cannot afford to have it down for any lenght of time.

There is zero wrong with my board infact it is very good. Currently it is taking my 555x2 and coverting it to a x4 running at 4.2 ghz using very low voltage. This is a driver issue and for a 250.00 card not worth that trouble.

Nope installed, fired up, flashed bios and whammy!!!! 6970. Plus zero driver issues, but remember this is a AMD based motherboard. I like this 6950 but I'm not overly impressed. It is good but not like my old 480 gtx. Ascetically it is very nice and not a power hog but I wanted a gtx 560. Still Gigabyte did a very good job with it and as a 6970 it performs about on par with a oced 5870.

6970 now and burn would be a Fermi term wouldn't it as in a lot of coal to fire up your electric bill. LOL!!! Not in the gtx 560s case but you got my joke.

The 6950's really aren't much better than a high end 5870, but then 5870 is a hell of a card. Oh and I received a 1 in a 1000 x2. It does 4.0ghz at 1.392v as a x4 and does 2800+ N/B

I find that hard to believe due to owning a 470 and a 5850 at the same time. I wound up keeping my 5850. You must of have some sort of user error when using your 5870.

my 5870 was only able to beat my 470 in Vantage and Crysis. and in crysis that is by 3FPS. everything else my 470 won

he reviews like hardforums does don't worry about it the 5850 is known to be better doesn't mean everyone can pull that off

Did you take a look at the event viewer to see if there are any warnings/errors in the Admin Event?

Are you reffering to games? The whole reason I kept my 5850 was due to better performance in the games I played.

Battlefield BC2
Mechwarrior (Crysis Mod)
Dirt 2
Dragon Age
Fallout NV - 470 did better here if I'm not mistaken
L4D

Now, both cards played these games at more than playable framerates anyways.

I think the thing that made the 5850 better for me was running it a 1ghz core 1200 ram and the fact it ran much cooler.

i ran my 5870 at 1000mhz for a bit too. gameplay was overall much smoother as well with hte 470

I like this card don't get me wrong and I had a gtx 460 oced to heck and back. I liked it as well, but it couldn't touch a 6970. I couldn't tell you about a gtx 560 because it won't work on this board. I wanted it to but oh well. I also had a 5850 from Asus that was a monster. I'm betting at 905/1425 this 6950/ 6970 will smash a oced GTX560. It is very powerful at that speed. However, I do like the gtx 560 it was cheaper, folds better and I'm a physx fan, but it wasn't in the cards. It is hard not to like a 6950 once you hold it in your hands. It gets harder once flashed to a 6970. These are both super good cards but for me it is time to move on.
