ZOTAC Announces its GeForce GT 440 Graphics Cards

ZOTAC International, a leading innovator and the world’s largest channel manufacturer of graphics cards, motherboards and mini-PCs, today introduces a new graphics card for mainstream users seeking a performance kick – the new ZOTAC GeForce GT 440 series graphics cards with 512MB and 1GB DDR5 memory.

Powered by the high-performance NVIDIA Fermi architecture, the ZOTAC GeForce GT 440 series pack 96 customizable unified shaders capable of rendering beautiful DirectX 11 graphics or accelerate NVIDIA CUDA-enabled video transcoding and image editing applications. The customizable shaders enable the ZOTAC GeForce GT 440 series to accelerate streaming high-definition Internet video powered by Adobe Flash technology for flawless playback free of dropped frames and stuttering.

“The ZOTAC GeForce GT 440 series graphics cards strike the perfect balance of performance, features and value for a graphics card that combines Microsoft DirectX 11 and NVIDIA CUDA technology to deliver a premium computing experience,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International.

The ZOTAC GeForce GT 440 series is available with 512MB and 1GB DDR5 memory that connects to the graphics processor via a wide 128-bit memory interface capable of lightning-fast communications between the graphics processor and memory.

It’s time to play with the ZOTAC GeForce GT 440 series graphics cards.

Low end bus powered cards

There must be a need in the price arena they are aiming at, despite lack of pricing info.

Maybe the aim is government desktops or other large organizations.

I think the card looks good but would like to see a side by side with a 450

My point is, nVidia should be spending all of their R&D time/money on the 500 series. This card should have been the GT 540, that would make more sense.

I'm wondering what the ROP/TMU count is. The 430 was a lowly card for most things due to only 4 ROPS, the GT 240 was a better "gaming" and compute card. Could this be an overclocked 430 to get rid of stock? A compare to either the 430 or 240 would really help understand its place

Looks to be akin to a 9600 GS which honestly does pretty well with games. Even crysis at 720p, 1080p at a mix of medium and high. This is of course taking advantage of how crysis seems smoother at lower fps than other games...

these should easily beat the 9600GS should be similar performance to the 8800GTS 320/640mb seeing how both have 96 shaders.

statement retracted looked at the reviews and ROP count

Maybe nVidia should bring out the tag WTF and not just GS\GT\GTX\TI. Because that's what this card is.
