There must be a need in the price arena they are aiming at, despite lack of pricing info.

Maybe the aim is government desktops or other large organizations.

I think the card looks good but would like to see a side by side with a 450

My point is, nVidia should be spending all of their R&D time/money on the 500 series. This card should have been the GT 540, that would make more sense.

I'm wondering what the ROP/TMU count is. The 430 was a lowly card for most things due to only 4 ROPS, the GT 240 was a better "gaming" and compute card. Could this be an overclocked 430 to get rid of stock? A compare to either the 430 or 240 would really help understand its place

this is realy bad the oem 440 is better 144 cuda cores this one has 96 only,
the same as 430 this card is a joke Texture Fill Rate 6.5 only the 430 has 11.2

Looks to be akin to a 9600 GS which honestly does pretty well with games. Even crysis at 720p, 1080p at a mix of medium and high. This is of course taking advantage of how crysis seems smoother at lower fps than other games...

these should easily beat the 9600GS should be similar performance to the 8800GTS 320/640mb seeing how both have 96 shaders.
