Which Card ?? ATI Radeon X1900GT or NVidia GeForce 7900GS

Well im not sure which one to get need some help. So which one would be better with just OCing no Volt mods ? Cuz ATI is better in fps with all the eye candy turned on ?

Or should i just wait untill ATI release there new card, cuz its coming out sometime in January right ? Cuz that should bring the prices down with the new card comeing out ?

Cuz i plan to keep it say 1-2 years before upgrading again

the x1900gt is the same thing as the x1950pro, good cards, with 3rd party cooling they can clock to the same perf levels as a stock xt in many cases.

the gs is crap btw the only decent gs was the 6 seirse, that was b4 they turn gs into POS cards.

grab the x1900gt(im sure its a rev2) and injoy all the eye candy you like, hdr+aa in games like farcry, oblivion and such (anything shader3.0 based).
dont mind the nay sayers i have setup alot of friends with x1900gt cards, and i would have one now if i hadnt got such a good deal on my xt!!!!(270bucks!!!!)

A little research will show that you should get an 1900XT or better or a 7800 or better to realy make that C2D shine.

Are you talking about rev 1 or rev 2?
The X1900GT rev 1 OC well, but you must replace the crappy stock cooler.
And you will kick that 7900GS at the nuts.

u know prime95 ur full of it, i havent seen a singel dead gt due to overheating, seen them dead due to overvolting, people stoping the fan with software(morons) and a few bad cards(happens) but none that burned out due to heat.

he can alwase buy a zalman 700 or 900 later if he wants to mass overclock the card.
or even a kingwin heatpipe(around 15bucks)

gt rev2 cards have a better then stock cooler and the core runs cooler anyway, also they from what i have seen seem to overclock very well!!!(same as the 1950pro)

cuz i read this on a review

"Both the 7900GS and the X1900GT HDCP performed admirably, especially considering their reasonable price. Those thinking ahead would probably be wiser purchasing the X1900GT, since HDCP is bound to play a big role in the not so distant future. Future proofing also reveals that the 7800GT is not a such a wise investment, since upcoming games will rely more on pixel shaders and thus make the small gap between the 7800GT and the other two boards wider. The X1950Pro simply crush the 7900GS and beat the 7900GT.

yeah, and the 1950pro is the same gpu core used in the gt rev2!!!!

for shader based games the 1900gt will stomp 7900 cards, its got 36 shader units 512bit ringbuss memory.

oh and hdr+aa is sexy!!!

nvidia windows drivers.....easyer to work with.......ROFL......ROFLMFAO.........

no really, you must be insain, or never deal with ati drivers, i have nvidia cards in my room as wel as ati, the nvidia drivers have a poor layout, and newer sets i have dont like multi cpu/core systems, even HT p4 i been messing with gets buggy/slow if i dont use hax to dissable the drivers multi threded crap.

if it was for linux you may have a point, but ati/amd users(same company now) i know dont seem to have any problems with current linux drivers working at same speed as windows drivers.

and singel slot cooler for xtx=water block :P

I will say the sapphire 1, the two cards are basically the same and the Sapphire is cheaper.
The one on newegg looks like its rev 2
and the one on zipzoomfly looks ike rev 1.

In terms of warranty, I get 2 year warranty from Sapphire in Hong Kong. (Depends on where you live I guess)

Get the rev 2 (X1950 Pro) if you don't want to mess with your card.
