New Corsair PSU vs Used Enermax PSU

I need to make a choice between 2 PSUs.

I can buy new Corsair HX750 or used Enermax Modu87+ 800W without warranty. Enermax was used for test purposes, been stress tested till protection kicked in.

So which purchase would be more adviseable in a long run?

Forgot to mention price difference. Corsair is 150€, Enermax 120€. And maybe in near future upgrade to 570GTX.

The Corsair with warranty.
It's more than enough for your current hardware.
Plus there's only 50W between the two - not worth risking warranty.

Gotcha hmmm its tought those enermaxs are great but 50w isn't worth loosing the warranty however the price for me is. I have never had a psu go out on me without me doing something rediculous with them.

But if you look this two psus relativly, Enermax is better? If both are in top notch condition.

But I still think too Corsair is better choice in a long run.

Both are very comparable PSUs. I would go for the one with the warranty. You said it yourself, "long run."

I think the build quality is about the same for both. Corsair wouldn't offer such a warranty if it wasn't, and I've had nothing but great experiences with Corsair PSU's. It's not like that 50w is going to give your system better performance or anything.

Not at all, it is just I don't have any experience with Corsair PSU. Well I guess I will gain some soon.

I've used an Enermax Liberty 520W, Enermax Modu82+ 620W, Enermax Revolution 950W, Corsair HX750W, and soon an ABS SL 1050W (which is an Enermax Revolution rebadge). I have had great experience with all of them, and would rate my HX750W in the same league as the Modu82's.

I will admit I am a big fan of Corsair. The reason is because of their warranties and customer service. If it were me..... I would go for the Corsair with the warranty. That way you can sleep well at night knowing that your PSU is covered.

Plus the difference in performance between the two I would say is negotiable.... especially with your set up. Even with an upgrade to a GTX 570 it still would not make a difference.

While the Corsair PSU is a 750 watt.... I know it could handle more if it needed too. Also since I have had mixed experiences with Enermax.... I would go with the Corsair.

I will tell you a short story....Not too long ago my Cat who is an A@s Hole ripped apart some cabling while I was working on my PSU( Yes I know it sounds fishy but it did happen) Anyway... You could see that it was clearly damaged. I RMA'd To corsair fully expecting it to be declined.... well anyway low and be hold It is back and I am using it today. Great Warranty!!!

The HX750 is my personal favorite. The cabling is the best I've ever worked with... lengths, connectors, flexible wires, etc. See my system specs

The AX is nice and all, but 40e for it is too much of an extra IMO. Go with the HX750 at 140e
