Valve's Portal 2 available for pre purchase now!

Available in "April", doesn't say which day.

The intro video looks like the game has some wickedly dark humour in it.

Look here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/620/

Bump for any Portal players out there in TPU land. I think most of us are into FPS and action games.

Thanks ktr.

I have to confess that while I did like the game, I never did finish it. I'll play it all over again before playing Portal 2.

I loved Portal. We played it in the army, mostly the advanced levels to determine which one of us could think in the most twisted ways lol. Damn the "use as less steps as possible" challenges were haaaaard. Not to mention the "use as less portals as possible" challenges. It requires you to think so hard its actually unhealthy

I'm eagerly awaiting Portal 2. I came across some magazines ranting about why the graphics aren't as a big step up from Portal 1.

...seriously? As if graphics were the most important thing. Hell It could have Quake 1 graphics and it would still rock.

Portal is actually one of those few games that does not require you to be into anything to like it.

Indeed. I played it once in the living room on PS3, and my father, who doesn't like any games besides Tetris, was intoxicated by it Altho I had to explain the mechanics and goal of the game to him first. Which also took several attempts until he got it lol.
He left the scene when I was at the level where you have to jump those platforms, and each one is higher than the other (know what I mean?), claiming that it makes him dizzy

But this changed his views on video games. He was one to believe the media about those "bad games that make kids kill teachers".
So - Portal connects generations.

Have you noticed how Crysis 2 doesn't have that stupid 5 machine activation limit? This means that I might well buy it, while I will continue to boycott Crysis.

See for yourselves:

Crysis

Crysis 2

You can preorder it from Amazon for £30, which is actually a little more than directly off Steam.

Crysis 2 (per the leaked beta) is going use the login system like Bad Company 2 has. Crysis 1 doesn't have the machine limit (Steam typo that was never corrected), but Crysis Warhead does. However, you can revoke the limit with the revoke utility found on EA's website.

Wow, that's really useful info, thanks! I might just get Crysis now. You'd think they'd fix a typo like that, with such a negative implication, wouldn't you?

I'm not familiar with the login system of Bad Company 2 though? Is it just a username and password?

Pretty much. You just binded you CDKEY with your EA account, and login using your EA account (only needed for multiplayer).
