SuperTalent Announces a new USB 3.0 Flash Drive

Super Talent Technology, a leading manufacturer of Flash storage solutions and DRAM memory modules, today announced a new USB 3.0 flash drive, the USB 3.0 Express DUO 2-CH. Featuring a cap-less industrial design, the USB 3.0 Express DUO 2-CH, now features a black "piano finished" plastic housing that twists to reveal and conceal the USB 3.0 port inside.

The 2-channel design of the Express Duo 2-CH can top over 67MB/s when plugged into a USB 3.0 port, yet remains fully-backward compatible to USB 2.0 and for about the same price. This new flash drive also comes pre-installed with Microsoft Security Essentials, real-time protection for your home PC that guards against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. Our USB 3.0 drive makes it easy to install this software on all of your PCs.

"Here's a USB 3.0 drive that performs, yet stays on budget. There's simply really no reason to buy a USB 2.0 flash drive anymore" CH Lee COO of SuperTalent.

This new line of Mac DDR3 memory includes products for Apple's most popular desktop and notebook operating systems.

"Stays on budget" with no MSRP? It's hard to call something "about the same price" when pricing on USB flash drives is so varied. Love the idea if these are around $20.

They brag so much about speed, yet it can only write at 18MB/s!? My 5 years old Lexar Lightning II 4GB drive does almost 2x better on USB 2.0...

Interesting comment. I am very familiar with that Lexar Lightning product. It was originally SLC and did get up to 24MB/s write and a 32MB/s read but it was a small capacity drive (4GB) that cost $70. Once it changed to MLC it never saw those scores again.

This Express DUO does get some great scores for the little two channel drive that it is. I found it on Superbiiz.com for $21.

Did anyone notice the weird nomenclature? There is no reason to call the drive a 2-CH unless they plan on coming out with a 4-CH, so watch out for that - (prediction made 3/23/11). .
