It's not necessarily crap. I see them as inbetween a budget brand and a reputable non-awesome brand (being Seasonic, Silverstone, Enermax, higher end Antec, PCP&C, and the other Corsair models). Better to get one of these than a Rosewill at least.

Check the negative reviews on the 430W. They do not hold up to the standards of other Corsair PSUs.

They defintiely don't hold up to the standards of the other Corsair PSUs, however JonnyGuru liked the 430w version, and for $14 it simply can't be beat. They are definitely solid units, and I've seen the CX430 easily push 400w(~34a) on the 12v rail. I liked the CX400 better, but the CX430 is definitely a PSU I could buy, put in a budget gaming rig, and not worry about it.

The problem is people are buying these for $30 and expecting $100 PSU quality just because it has Corsair on the side. They are budget PSUs, and for a budget PSU they are some of the best.
