I was 2 but it would be another 10 years before I got to touch a computer. I do remember windows 3.1 and those real "floppy" disks, and being taught to be afraid of breaking computers. Now I kinda love it when something's not working.

However I had a color monitor and a color gfx card, but this is mine. I got rid of the color stuff to put it back to the original B&W configuration.

Hey you're older than me! I was working on school (university) supplied HP desktops at the time, I forget what OS it was. My Dad had upgraded from an XT to an AT, and went from 4.77 Mhz to 6.0 Mhz, and he was PSYCHED! (note that my current computer runs at 4.2 GIGA Hz, LOL... 1000x faster than the XT going by clock speed alone).

My computer experience at the time was pretty much limited to Fortran on Unix and programming in Basic on an Apple IIE.

Was 18 then. Had been kept informed about the whole Microsoft thing, which I thought was fairly laughable (as was Apple: good gear, but utterly poor implementation).
Had a C64 which a classmate & I were furiously trying to do some serious coding on, before discovering the power of the Amiga.

Can't fool a 6 yr old!

In 1985, color monitors were quite a bit more expensive than B&W. But I don't recall seeing anything other than color with the Apple II's
