Sapphire Brings Back HD 5800 Series with Xtreme Editions

Hailed as the most exciting development in graphics for several generations, the original SAPPHIRE HD 5800 series not only included the fastest single GPU available, but was also the first family of video cards in the world to support the advanced graphical features of Microsoft DirectX 11 and multi-monitor displays in Eyefinity mode. The HD5850 Extreme is available for £115 here in the UK. In terms of price vs performance it is basically unbeatable.

The HD5830 is also "good" value at £85 although it is a HD5830 *shudders*.

Where can you even find the 5850, i've just had a look around scan and ebuyer and they don't even sell that model, all of the other 5850s are £140

With the name extreme though I would have expected clocks to be in the atomic area. Let down in the naming scheme to me. Like one said earlier "getting rid of excess pats edition"

I'm still rocking a 5850. Great card and with the prices the way they are now theres not much better out there. I mean you have to be a dumbass or a serious folder/bencher to spend 300+ bones on a GPU right now when there is maybe one game that will strain a year old GPU (5850).
