which is the best GPU for a 1090T

i am planning on buying a new PC and i wanted to know which GPU is better for the 1090T.
i thought about choosing between the GTX570, HD6950 or the HD6970. The resolution is going to be 1920x1080

Unless you get factory overclocked 6970's.

Yes, the GTX 570 is generally cheaper than the HD 6970.

As you can see in the reviews here in TPU, the HD 6970 actually does slightly better than the GTX 570 in higher resolutions (1920x1080 would be roughly equivalent to 1920x1200, so check those charts). Yet in the performance per dollar chart for that resolution the GTX 570 is actually ahead, meaning the performance advantage of the HD 6970 isn't worth it.

The difference between the card is actually very minuscule, and if you didn't see W1z's charts you would think the two card is the same.

I have been totally happy with my 6970 and newegg sell them for $335 with rebate ( XFX ). They even allow you to remove the cooler without voiding there warranty as long as you let them know you plan too.

definitely the GTX570 imo, recently upgraded to one myself and as you can see I run a 1090T (does not bottleneck the card) and a 1080P monitor.

the GTX570 is a powerhouse, and 19/20 overclock to nicely surpass GTX580 performance, something 6970s seem to have a harder time doing. they appear to benefit less from overclocking than a GTX570 does.

also my advice to you is get the Asus DCII model or Gigabyte non reference (windforce3) as they charge very little more over a reference card and offer much better temperatures and overclockability.

i just wanted to know if going for a 2500k is worth it. I have seen benchmarks and they show that the 2500k is way better then the 1090T, for only a small price difference. Most games don't use the 6 core processors yet. So going a high quality quad is better, then a 6 core?

intel processor are better ATM clock for clock , just like (amd was better with athlon vs pentium 4 in the day clock for clock)

so yes 2500k would be really nice it sell for 210$ and its an unlocked processor that can get to 4.4 ghz on air.

in the end i think that for 50$ you get better performance per dollars with intel 2500k

80% of the time(maybe even more) for 1080p, the 570 or 6950 is the model you would want.
And if so, the 570 is a bit more beefier down low.

Now, if you go up to 2560 res in the future, OR you play a handful of games that are really taxing(especially with AA enabled) such as Metro 2033, Crysis/2, etc, then the 6950 would be a more total solution - especially given it's overclocking status.

I see you've chosen the 570 - wise at this point.
