Mechanical Keyboards (UK)
Looking to go mechanical!
Wanted a keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches; the only ones i can find here in the UK are PLU ML-87 Tenkeyless, KBC Poker and Filco Majestouch Tactile (£114).http://www.amazon.co.uk/Filco-Majest...5450594&sr=1-5 I dont really want a Razer BlackWidow because im unsure of the build quality and i don't know if i would like the MX Blues for gaming, i think for pure typing they would be good. I can get a SteelSeries 6Gv2 for £75 but its MX Black and im looking for more a medium between gaming and typing although i just use my pc for general use so it might not be that bad. Looked at Das Keyboards but they only have the Professional UK which is MX Blues and its £120, the Silent version uses MX Browns but its not UK. Heard of some other boards but nothing available in the UK (maybe but id have to ask in a few forums im not a member of), also most are in ANSI not British Standard so importing isn't really an option for me. Theoretically IF i could somehow get the money for a Filco would it be my best option? or should i try the Steelseries 6Gv2?

You should buy a keyboard with the key mechanisms you prefer. The Zowie Celeritas features browns and is available worldwide via caseking.de I think. Its is €120 with is around 100GBP if i remembered the exchange rate correctly.

Looking at the "ZOWIE CELERITAS" and it is a nice keyboard. Has the MX Browns i wanted and has some Fn key functions like media keys. Looks like the build quality is the same as the Filco.
Just checked and its 130€ shipped, which is £114 the same price as a Filco shipped. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOcfE2TFbKw Looks very nice actually. EDIT: I can buy the zowie celeritas direct from their site.

There is a review on TPU of the Celeritas. The Browns are definitely versatile and do well both for gaming and typing.

199€ for the Deck, its more of a beast but id rather save some money. The Deck is one of the top mechanical keyboards.

Hard to find, but I have a Ducky Year of the Tiger with MX Browns. PBT keycaps that are laser inscribed so they look like blanks unless you're at the right angle. It's really quite a dream, but hard to find as they only made 500 of them, and not all of them are pure MX Browns, let alone with English lettering.

Right im leaning towards the ZOWIE Celeritas, i suspect the printed keys could be a problem but im guessing not for at least a good few years (then i can get key caps if im still using the board).
The Ducky is near impossible to find i think Overclock.net where selling the Ducky DK9008. EDIT: Okay so thats the one im going to try and get, thanks for the help Frederik!

The only downside to the Celeritas is the keycaps. Go ahead and give it a shot

Id have that same problem with the Filco and the Deck is just a bit too expensive. Yeah im definitely going to get the Celeritas seems like a nice board to have as my first mechanical.
