This has been my first day in these forums and I can tell you that I am liking it here a lot more than the overmoderated craphole I came from.

The community is smaller but seems to be a lot more knowledgeable.

And, judging by some of the threads I have read, it's not against forum policy to have fun around here.

I too have to give this forum 5 stars and am looking forward to being a lot more active here.

Any update on perhaps allowing what I was doing in the Steam thread? I was honestly just trying to help everyone out

Can you give us a link to this, please? I'm curious to know what you were trying to achieve. I'm thinking about my thread qubit's Steam troubleshooting thread as our aims seem complementary and perhaps can be integrated.

nothing like that, I'll shoot you a PM in a few. What I was doing was actually violating the BST forum rules, hence why I am asking about it being "allowed"

TBH, I'm not expecting a rule change nor am I expecting to be granted with an exception to the rule, though I am hoping the later might happen. Besides, I'm only doing it for established TPU members only

If you really want to help people out, work it out elsewhere like through Steam chats with TPU members that you know. That way, transactions don't take place on TPU and therefore don't violate the B/S/T rules. I've helped people out before, so I realize the urge to do this, but there are other ways around the rules so that we can preserve the rules that we have for these forums.

I for one greatly appreciate the involvement that the moderators and admins have on these forums regarding B/S/T. Anandtech publicly flames trolls, Hardforum pretty much says fool you once, shame on you. EVGA has strict rules, but enforcement is severely lacking. TPU is the only forum I have found that has the traffic, ruleset, involvement, and enforcement that makes for a safe trading place.

There is a posting of the rules for the gaming section in that section now. The rules are slightly different than the BST section.

Does this mean I'm allowed to advertise I'm doing it in my SIGNATURE? That way anyone interested can PM me?

Nope, sorry n-ster. The key word is "advertise". That's what we don't want.
PM me if you want more details.

Glad you are enjoying it here, Bro.

Let's see. A year ago I got an infraction from e-rocker and I posted in this thread that I was pissed (I can't even remember why). I guess I got over it. I'm still here, and this is still my favorite forum. Thanks W1zzard for having such an awesome website

This man here is the reason I found these forums, I was pissed about getting infractions at another site, for joking with another user, among other things, and he told me about here.

I am definitely not an experienced user, but I learn more every day and I am always glad to help anyone that is less experienced than me.

Most of all though, I'm just happy to be somewhere that isn't a troll infested craphole, where the mods jump on you for liking AMD.

This place is the friendliest forum I know, and what I LOVE about it is how much I learnt in such a small amount of time. When people like me see a noob, we get all excited because we want to teach them everything we know... We are like little kids that are super excited about the math lesson they just learnt and tell it to everybody

I can't compare much to other forums though, as I am a part of 2 forums, on of which I just in feburary (bitcoin) and this one. I loved it here so much I never even thought about going on to other forums

The only bad thing about TPU is that it created a few voids in my wallet...

...I'd rather not comment on that. BUT on early shifts that start at 6am, especially in the winter when not many aircrafts are flying around, I've simply got nothing to do so... I browse TPU.

Right now I'm at work, too. Good thing we have some new trainees, less work and more TPU for MRCL!
