What's up with games that don't have any subname attached last and this year? Same nonsense was with NFS Hot Pursuit which i always have to adddress as NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 otherwise no one knows which game i'm talking about (original with the same name was release in 1998).
Same here. Why can't it be called "Tomb Raider - Something" or marked with number like old Tomb Raider games were?

Hmmm, was that a trailer for a game or a movie?

And yes freebie, she does look hot. Nothing like fancying a virtual babe, now is there. 100% guaranteed not to be able to have her!

I have to agree with RejZoR that Tomb Raider should have a subname with it. The only ones that shouldn't are the first ones.

Now, doesn't our new Lara look like Victoria Beckham?

more than ten years on i think you can reboot the sub-name cycle no problem.

obviously the next one needs a name. Prince of Persia screwed up, gave the
singular title to a crap game instead of forgotten sands.

the only people that care are geeks like us, and we call it what we want anyway.

for most people. there will be no confusion at all between this (or NFS) and it's
10 year old counterpart.

AND:I thought that was a REALLY good trailer. like, I am actually thinking of
anticipating this game now The gameplay was mostly good, i just hated the story.

Her voice for some reason kills it for me. Everything looks nice, but some things seem cheesy imo.

Lara Croft is voiced by posh babe actress Keeley Hawes.

This one is supposed to be open world, surviving on the island from what I recall. Could be great or could be the nail in the coffin IMO.

EDIT - Ahhh, I thought I had heard that voice before qubit - "My name is Alex Drake....." It's Bolly knickers

For some reason Lara sounds too american. I mean there are few words where you hear like she's trying to sound british but i just don't like it. I even checked this girl and she's in fact from the UK which even further surprises me.

Now that's a revamp. The cinematic trailer was really great and sets a good tone for the whole thing, but you can't really form a solid opinion about the game until some gameplay footage is released.

@stuart
no one has mentioned? maybe not on this thread, but that's been most
of the talk about this game:the change in bra size.

i'm all for the change. misrepresentation, wrong image for women, sure.
but i simply think she looks better now. her image was ridiculous before.

totally agree with you mate

these simple and most notable changes are what
most lara fanboys notice(and complain about) first

her image was ridiculous before
but sadly that is what drew the mass to her.

Well Lara without proper chest is like Duke Nukem without muscles, cigare and bubble gum.
Or Gordon Freeman without silence and crowbar. Or Need for Speed without cars. Or J.C. Denton without black sunglasses and leather jacket. Or... you get the picture. Lara is an icon and well quite frankly her attributes were among the reasons.

Hmmm... good point. Perhaps the feminists made them tone it down?

Personally, I loved the unofficial nude patch for her!

Well, i wonder where are feminists when a male player prefers a female ingame character over a male one. In many games i prefer to play with female character. Especially if it's a 3rd person game. It's simply much more pleasant to play when something nice is 99% of the gameplay moving on your screen than watching some dude doing "sexy" acrobatics. I still liked Max Payne for example but Heavy Metal FAKK2 or Tomb Raider were sort of always my preference...

it's your opinion that that attribute is necessary, and i see your point with the

lol... not in any harsh way, but that's what public opinion is. I can't disagree
that her character was most defined by her chest size, and i believe that was
the point. but it was no better a decision then than now, so i'm glad to see it
change.

yeah i've never been one for that either. i understand the argument, but for
me the whole point is to immerse yourself as that character. i just don't enjoy
pretending to be a girl

of course i jest, but i hope you know it's all in good fun - and i think it simply
comes down again to differing opinions. the sales i guess will tell

If you want to immerse yourself into anything, start playing first person games for starters :P
Something on the level of System Shock 2 or Deus Ex. Games where you also have massive manipulation of the world, interaction, loads of items. Stuff that makes you feel you're there.
Never ever got such feeling with any 3rd person game, even with the best ones. You always have a feeling that the player on screen is just a puppet controlled by you. Same reason why Dead Space isn't as scary as FEAR for me. In Dead Space i just see some mosnter humping my character. In FEAR or any other first person game, whatever was attacking you was jumping right in your face.

I still stand by the statement that proper boobies are trademark of Tomb Raider and that they shoudln't be changing that. Just because of that and nothing else. Otherwise i'm no fan of big or god no excessively oversized boobs. It's the shape that matters, not the size anyway :P
