Apple introduces the iPhone at Macworld 2007
Everyone has been waiting for this one - the Apple iPhone. It actually uses a wide screen display and touch screen with multi finger gestures. The device will run Mac OS X. 8GB memory serve as storage for your iTunes, contacts and all the usual data. You can also take pictures using the 2 megapixel camera and it is very thin: 11.6 mm. You can listen to your music through the speaker or use normal head phones. The display is incredibly dense: 160ppi. The device has sensors which detect if you put your ear to the phone, what kind of light sitation you are in and if you are holding the iPhone horizontal or landscape. The device uses quad-band GSM + EDGE. So no 3G/UMTS services, but it has WiFi and bluetooth.

this is what I've been waiting for...almost. Needs a better camera, and it's an all in one device, phone-camera-multimedia.

looks VERY nice, but I thought it might have better than a 2 megapixel camera tbh. Splitting hairs though - its version I.o so Im sure its features will get tweaked, and its realllllll purty.

Looks very pretty.
Looks very easy to break. Looks very expensive. Looks like I probably won't be getting one, unless I win the lottery. I would go with iKnife. You use it to defend all your other expesive Apple toys from robbers, and you do it in style while listening to music from the headphone jack and record the robber begging for mercy using the built in microphone, and talking to your wife hiding in the bedroom closet using the built in two way communicator. |

Hey, they practically brought the MP3 player to market... though I wouldn't buy an iPod. This looks like another revolution... if you live part of your life with a PDA, you will probably say (like me), I freakin want one!

I had a Creative Nomad way before ipod was even a thought so don't say that they brought the mp3 player to the market. They just made it smaller and prettier.

Apple Computer, Inc has now become Apple Inc, dropping the "Computer" part from its name. Not sure if you want to add this to your newspost DS. It's a bit boring to go by itself.

"smaller and prettier", ie. popular and wanted by the masses. Face it, it's become synonymous with mp3 players just as nintendo once was with video games. I'll never own an ipod, but I wont argue its dominance in the market.

I don't know where you come from but everybody and their mother in my neighborhood had an mp3 player before the first ipod came out. I never said they didn't own the market.

Agreed, but they were the first to successfully market it in such a way that everyone wanted one. This is the heart of consumerism... unfortunately ingenuity seems to take a backseat to style these days.

On the other hand I do like this. It reminds me of that completely touch screen Nokia thing with the hydrogen cell. I can imagine when these phones are released to consumers they will cost a hefty amount of money Hopefully it will be worth it.
