damn sweet..
![]() anyone know the prices yet? have you see 6970's differences between 1GB and 2GB model? adding 1 GB per core only make it more expensives and also bigger memory only affect when you run multi-monitor setup (above WQXGA resolution), from which 6870x2 will run out its horsepower if you enable those with all graphic settings maxed out..

Bingo! Looks like I'm going back to Powercolor!
BTW, the price for this should be around the same as a single GTX580, right? |

i think it should be cheaper, since single 6870 still priced around $200 and GTX580 around $500, so if they tagged it between $350-400, it still reasonable..

The thing is, a dual-chip card is always more expensive than it's standard CrossFireX setup counterpart.
For example, here the cheapest single HD 6870 is 150€. Crossfire would cost 300€. The cheapest GTX 580 is 420€. Due to the complexity of the board that allows the HD 6870x2 to exist (engineering and components), I'm thinking the card will cost 400~450€. |

looking at 6990 (6970x2) that only around $50 more expensive than crossfirex counterpart, $100-200 difference seems too much. but i hope it still cheaper than 580..

It's always more expensive on release. Give it a month or two, after release, and the price will drop to a more reasonable value.

When price goes down a bit, ditching my 2x 6870s and picking up a pair of these. Should be some amazing performance for the money... I hope

I currently run two 2GB GTX560s, which perform better overall as there's no stutter. I would have bought higher VRAM 68xx cards had they been available. Two 6950 2GBs were too expensive, and I could only afford around the 6870 level at most. |

Price and power usage will tell how good a value this card is, but looks interesting.

i dont know if all of those cases were true, but i think its not entirely because lack of vram, some of it maybe due to software issues..

I'm surprised that there are so many people willing to invest so much money into a PowerColor product.
Has nobody else here had reliability nightmares? |

I don't know. All brands have their troubles from time to time. I have a seven year old 9800 SE and a five or six year old x800gto from Powercolor still working fine.

I have a 3 year old HD 4670 from powercolor that's still working great. I think they are one of the better card makers right now.
But then I've also had good luck with HIS, ASUS, and Sapphire. The only card that's crapped out on me was an 8800 GT from EVGA. |

This price seems out of whack "Powercolor 6870x2 coming this month at $449"
$350 retail should be decent nothing more. There is suggestions of $387 for the 10x I am getting for my HPC but that is bulk pricing. |

dual gpu card always more expensive that crossfirex / sli setup. $450 seems fine if you know that most of 6870 still priced around $230..

This card will most likely run quieter than my 6870 right now

Nice looking card, would rather have one of these than a HD 6990 cos of the temps/noise. Thinking not really worth a huge upgrade at the mo, the 7 series is just around the corner, huge price drops on the current gen and 28nm new cards!
I might wait until the GTX 580 hits £200 and that will be my next upgrade! Saying that there might be an AMD HD 7000 card for £200 that wipes its arse with the GTX 580? |
