Yeah, these errors bug the hell out of me too. I'm on here a lot, am in good standing and have very good spelling and grammar, so I think I'd do a good job of it. I will subscribe to the RSS feed to make sure I see the threads.

It would be an honour to be given this responsibility and give more back to TPU.
look at the date on the op

Yeah, it's a zombie thread, but some times is does not hurt to revisit ideas if they have potential merit.

Yeah, I know - and I never saw it before. It's only because someone posted in it today that I realized it was here. So how does that screw up my chance of getting the job?! lol

So have people been chosen, then? (I have to confess that I didn't fancy reading through 100 posts).

Even if they have, I'd still like to be given a go, if possible. I still see an awful lot of threads with dodgy titles and I'm quite the spelling and grammar nazi. You can be sure I'd pounce on them in short order! In fact, I'm so obsessive and perfectionist about it, that I've fixed spelling mistakes in my own posts that I'd missed the first time around, even weeks later, because I can't stand to see them there.

Heck, give me a two day trial, you won't be disappointed.

No one is a title-mod only.
There was a post in the deep, dark, secret place that us mods have to belly-crawl to get to, that suggested we do better at title editting. We've been pretty good about it.
I tend to change all thread titles that are "non-informative" to something better.
I also fix spelling when I feel it is appropriate, but sometimes the original misspellings in the title may be an attempt to get a little attention.
You know us, we're not overly fascist about grammer.

It's so true. The difference between "spelling and grammar" and "non-informative" is night and day.

Anyway, on a slightly unrelated note, one of the mods removed "hell" (used as hyperbole) in one of my (remarkably) descriptive thread titles.

I'm not cut out to be a mod. I'd just say, "fuck it", and drink another beer. I guess that's why I'm American?

It's great idea, but if there is other way to replace double click i will appreciate cuz im use mobile now and there is no way for double clicking, not only for me for sure but i mean someway to be compatable with any device, what about put it as an option in thread tools - edit thread title?

I don't see any need for a title fixer. The mods seem to be doing a good job in this department.

Im late to this party also.

Its a shame really. Its a good idea, and as wizzard said. it could be used as a stepping stone to be considered for other mod duties.

but the current mods do a fine job so i suppose theres no need to add another level to the hierarchy.

I would very much like to help out with the forum above the standard user level.

Because haters will always hate.... Someone like mailman will go and change the title of every thread he's ever made to "You just got trolled" or something similar.

I would still like the ability to only change the titles of our threads in the BST section. But then, there's still a room for abuse there.

I mean only the thread starter could change it

So do I. There's quite a few disgruntled TPU'ers who would take advantage of it.
