And just like everything else with the "Killer" name on it, expected price will be arm + leg.

Cause it is not possible. Considering where they do their optimization, they would be claiming Windows, on a game server with 100 latency for you, would be adding 80 ms of that. BS. I have seen their product work and work well, but that is ridiculous.

When I read this I thought oh boy here we go again, after thinking about it I think there's more of a market/reason for Killer work to improve Wifi opposed to Lan technology which is rarely an issue even with the cheapest chipsets.

yeah but without them releasing wifi AP's/routers too, its pointless. i've got a 3G router here with no external aerial, so no matter how fancy their wifi device is, its not going to make a lick of difference since the problem is the other end - and thats how its going to be in 99% of situations, with the router/AP being the weak link.

So lower than the already low sub ms turnaround time? So now we can receive data at unprecedented rates on the same factor that is still the largest limit to transfer rates? Amazing, and how much do I pay for these rubber knee cap warmers?

I have a PCI killer N1 card on my mantel, Its believed to be dead and pulled from a custom PC. I took the "K" heatsink off and it looked basically like a regular NIC card.

Not really the K2100 can be had for around or under $50, if fifty dollars is an arm and a leg I would love to see you reacting to a $1000 dollar PC.

Even in a $1000 PC it is still overpriced for the return. This would have been great back in the Pentium Pro days when we absolutely needed every cycle, now the few cycles on a quad core mean nothing in real world performance. That being said, only people with a need to overcompensate for something will see the need for this.

So how does a it stack up against the SR-71 from ubiquity networks that is available since 2009 ?
Code:
Ubiquiti SR71-E 400mW Hi-Power 802.11n PCI-E Module
Extended Range and 300Mbps Wireless Speeds
Indoor Range (Antenna Dependent): Up to 300m
Outdoor Range (Antenna Dependent): over 50km
This half size is nice as compared to the SR-71 full length. It maybe does not have the SR-71 400mw power but it sure looks good.

Does it also do between 50km to 300km "ugly bigger version" outdoors with a reasonable antenna and still able to get decent speeds.
ie: 30miles to 180miles give or take.

300Mbps is cute but so what 450Mbps to 700Mbps is normal for dual streams that this is supposed to do.

Eurocom Announces World's Fastest Wireless-N Adapter = false maybe "Bigfoot Technology" only product list sure but not in the USA world or in the real world / planet earth.

Still a bloody amazing achievement for such a small product.

I while back I did a speed test with their K 2100, @ speedtest from San Diego, CA, USA to Christchurch, NZ and got a latency of 45 ms (ask Athlonite was in the my pc atm thread I think), their products work.

The card can only control the data from your PC to the next piece on the network, namely, your DLS/Cable modem. I did a ping to mine just now and it was.................... less then 1ms. So how again will this speed up my networking?

Having Killer NIC does NOT prioritize your QoS on the internet.

he was just (poorly) pointing out like i was, that this only helps one step of the way - most of the problem with high ping lies in places this adaptor cannot help you with.

True, but that in no way makes it pointless, as some seem to claim without any basis.

Poor fact is still fact. I corrected your spelling to prevent the innocent from eye cancer.

"up to five times lower latency than competitive wireless adapters"

I tried wireless from my phone/laptop yesterday at work, and both had point to point turn around times of less than one ms. And both had maximum bandwidth of wifi 54Mbps despite only having a internet connection of a few Mbps available. As a fact the turnaround time in three internal hops going through two switches and wifi was still less than 1ms. So they claim to be less than the already less than 1ms? So those few zemtoseconds are really helping the cause.

that speed has been around for years now. did i miss something?

edit: a google search of 'fastest wireless n' shows this thread third from the top!! holy shit, these companies should be paying wizzard to post this kind of marketing BS.
