GFWL game process?

does GFWL save game progress or do i just save the saved game file in my documents to my desktop so that when i reinstall the game i just put it back in? I wondering because im going to do a fresh install of windows, because i upgrading to sandy bridge

System Specs

It depends on the game. GFWL really only ties save games to your GFWL account. Directories of note...

C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Microsoft\GFWLive
C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive
C:\Users\USER\Saved Games

...assuming Vista/7...

System Specs

if you can find the folder just copy it as you said and copy it back afterword.
note that configuration files are sometimes with save games. if that's part of your issue
you don't want to replace the new ones with that.

yeah i got the game Batman AA on Steam, and then that made me install GFWL as well. and like ussual all the saved games for steam or in Your Documents


Alright another question: What about games installed on my 500gb F3. will i have to reinstall them or will have i have to format my F3 as well??

System Specs

steam games are fine
make sure to copy everything off the OS drive. you mentioned copy it to desktop -
the desktop will be erased if you format while reinstalling.

as for the other games, you will have to reinstall them and reactivate, so you may
want to look through them for deactivation/revocation tools, to unattach that os from
your serial.

you won't have to format the drive, maybe delete folders if you need space.
