Ok I changed the following:
1) CPU/NB Frequency is now 2600mhz instead of auto 2) My RAM Frequency is now 1333mhz instead of 1067mhz 3) My RAM timing is now 7-8-7-24 40 2T (is 40 the Row Cycle Time)? Anything else to do now? CPU frequency or anything? EDIT: new cpu-z memory reading ![]() How do I change my CPU Frequency? It's set to auto at 3200mhz right now. I turned off auto and put in manual but I can't seem to find another option to change the frequency. Last edited by Zaspera; Jul 17, 2011 at 07:14 PM. |

That would be a big help. I'll show you mine in a few min so you can see what the settings do. How does the system feel now with tighter timings?

Here , an example.
![]() ![]() ![]() you can also raise the BUS speed, raising the bus speed clocks up the cpu frequency as well as raises the memory speed... but it also raises the HT and NB speed as well... Id recommend using the cpu multi and tinker with that before playing with other settings..just to get a handle on whats going on. Oh and your question on the auto cpu setting being @ 3200mhz? Just use the plus or minus key on the key board to change the option.

The system feels alot smoother right now. So to overclock the cpu, I adjust CPU ratio and bus speed? My bus speed is at 200 right now and says I can go anywhere from 1-600. What is a good number to put it at?

Just overclocked the CPU to 3.6ghz and ran Prime95 for 2 hours just fine. Do I need to increase the voltage or anything? What does that do exactly?

no, if your system is running smooth, you don't need to increse any voltages

can you give us a CPU-Z pic of your current settings?

no leave the voltages alone.. increasing the voltage allows you to clock higher but not always a guaranty, voltages help to stabilize a clock but with more volts bring more heat. Make sure you stay below 62c

If you have Lag installing it's probably your hard drive. Also up the NB speed. My 1090T with the stock NB sucked

![]() ![]() The cpu is running at about 38°C right now under medium load, which is all I ever run it at. |
